Heel toe is known to be hard with this car. Definitely pick up some pedal spacers and a mountune radiator. It probably won't survive these canyon drives in the summer without overheating.

When you're ready to buy another vehicle just buy a manual. Have someone else you trust test drive it. The best way to learn is to own one! You'll have it down in a week or two.
if you want a better beginner manual car for the canyon, the answer is ALWAYS a Miata. Also i highly, highly suggest trying out a lotus elise or exige now that you can drive manual, but you might want to get a little better to really enjoy one.

tip for heel toe with small pedal boxes, just use your toe on both the gas and brake, then just roll your foot from one pedal to both and than back to one

Yeah, that's what I do. Brake with left side and blip with right side of the foot. Most of the time that works pretty good.
Ah yes. As a fiesta owner I enjoy watching someone drive a fiesta on KZread.

Glad your enjoying your car, its really a great way to start driving manual in a FiST.
I love the Ford Fiesta ST
youre doing great, be confident in your ability to shift Jordan. definitely looks like you got it down 👍🏽
Brakes don't correlate to stopping power nearly as much as people think. Stickier/wider tires and lighter weight help stop faster. Bigger brakes and upgraded pad compounds help stop repeatedly (dissipating heat on track), and might shorten stopping distance slightly as the bite is often a little more aggressive with aggressive brakes.
it seems like your feathing your pedal, hold it longer. Your breaks will make u stop xD
ONE OF US ONE OF US ONE OF US
Love it already
This is actually dope, because I just recently got a manual miata so I’m learning at the same time as Jardon.
Definately takes some concentration and training to heel&toe in a new car. Ive been driving manual for about 4 years and been practicing proper rev matching and heeltoeing about 9 months now and Ive just about gotten the hang of it. Hopefully I can get my car on track next summer for real training!
You should go through this slowing upgrading the fiesta using it as a project car then you’ll slowly learn how to handle it better, love this content ❤️
Loved that clip from Mexico, lol
don't worry about heel toe. there seems to be a trend of thinking among car enthusiasts that you're not worthy of stepping in a car if you can't heel toe, I never bothered to learn to do it mainly because I have awful hand eye (and leg-eye, for that matter...) co-ordination, but I settle for being reasonably good at rev matching and generally mechanically sympathetic. Just drive how you enjoy and don't feel pressure from people to drive a certain way. For what it's worth I suspect no professional driver outside of racing drivers heel toe either, that goes for emergency services drivers et al.
Awesome to see you are a FiST driver when I followed you since I was young.
Yooo, I had my first driving lesson in a manual this morning!

In order to properly heal toe in a fiesta you need a pedal spacer. The gas pedal is too far down
You gotta do like a VR recording or something so I can use my Sony vive to experience it irl 😄
heel-toe is mainly for driving on track Jordan. It is not as common as you may think. Yes people do it, along with double clutching but realistically for driving on roads, most people just do a typical rev-match
I think the term built in right of way really applies to cars, in Ireland the bmws and audis and sports cars feel more aggressive on the road and at roundabouts especially, since they can go faster than the other cars and quite often do
Try get the manual m2 cs when it’s out! It’s going to be soo good🔥🔥
Very Nice
i am a fellow manual car driver, my friend actually has the same car as you. the fast you accelerate the faster you can shift, what i mean by that is the faster you accelerate the less you have to wait for the revs to drop. i noticed you were shifting as quickly as you would when casually driving, that is not needed.
I genuinely learned, and have only driven manual, once I got in an automatic car and genuinely got confused on what to do lol. But it’s just throw it in D and on you go
Looks good Jordan. Come to Denmark, and i'll let you drive my VW Polo! :D
Once youve got used to the car a little more, you should strip it, half cage wheels tyres and suspension, plus a few bolt in engine mods.
Credit to the salesman who taught you how to drive manual cars!
Welcome to the world of fully fledged car enthusiasts!

honestly the most fun car to drive for me is a "shit car". my main car (RCF) was in an accident, so I got a manual e46 323i for $1500, for about a year. It has been the most fun car I've driven, not only because its a manual but also because i know that if anything goes wrong i wont be upset about it. I thrashed the f out of it every where; it only had 180 hp XD. I cut half the rear muffler off and it wasn't loud at all just sounded right. Got it stuck in snow a couple of times, took it on up and down California, then when I got back to my main car, it just didn't feel as fun. Now I want a slow manual shit car again now XD preferably another rwd bimmer.
You'd have a lot of fun with me driving... I'm learning manual on our kia forte fe. I slightly burn rubber ALMOST every time I pull out from a stop sign and one time I managed to burned rubber again shifting from 1st to 2nd. My mom is pretty sure I did it going from 2nd to 3rd once... Once I'm on a highway or long stretch of road without stops I'm fine. 3-6 is easy to get into usually. The forte has lane assist to the point that it will steer for you around shallow enough turns, and it's a really weird feeling, especially on a highway.
I want to go to US for travelling in these roads 😍
What kind of tires are on the car? It makes a very large difference
Were u listening to diamond eyes gravity??
get some coilovers for the fiesta ST,I suggest some KW's or if you want to spend a litte bit less some BC racing coilovers, Both will make your car handle way better without transforming the ride in a torture.

I'm surprised that Jordan didn't get himself a Miata for his first manual. It's probably the easiest car to learn manual in and heel to toe is a lot easier. Also, you could do a lot more spirited driving in a Miata.
Its adorable that you've just learned how to drive manual. Maybe its just an environmental thing... But where i grew up you learned stick the very first time you get in a car. My parents taught me... I taught my brother. Its just a thing.
In my car it takes a long time to get from 4th to 5th so I've gone from 4th to 3rd before. It's not fun. Also, 1st is over so quick on my car I'm not ready for it when I'm at full acceleration. Gotta love BMW.
I was gonna say u look like this youtuber captin sparklz but u indeed are him
try heal on the brake and then flick the gas with your toe or toe on brake and heal tap the gas. just my advice if you have a hard time.

are you planning to bring back the driving podcast? you should bring James "theodd1sout" if you are.
The reason why I learned how to drive a manual was that I bought a used car that had a manual a 2007 Acura TL Type S with a 6-speed manual transmission great car btw But buying that car forced me to learn how to drive manual Now I didn't do it on my car since my car costs $2,200 to change the clutch But what I did do is sign up for a service on the Internet And that's where I learned how to drive a manual I learned on their 07 Mazda 3 5 Speed then I fine tuned my skills With my Acura and now I love driving manual It is fantastic I would buy all my cars In manual if I had the option

Get a lightweight flywheel and delete the rev hang (if that's possible for this car), the shifts will be much better.
