Can not wait for the full review. When will it be online

I've heard from another source that this amp has very good control of bass. This is one of the criteria I am currently looking for as my current amp runs out of juice at higher volume. I have a class AB amp with 60 watts into 8 ohms but the capacitors are rather small, and as such there is a lot of compression at higher volumes. The dynamics are fine at low to medium levels. I'm basically in the market for something with better dynamics at higher output and although I'm not opposed to class D, I would rather another AB class amp. Thanks for the upload!

Thanks for your first look - looking forward for the full review! I am really interested what you say about the sound then. Will 70 Watt will be enough for the LS50 Metas? And can you hook up another DAC on it?

70 Watt will be MORE than enough for the LS50's. And yes... another dac will help in this case ;-).

What's background song / track ? I liked the trumpet played in background.

Would it be possible to use HDMI ARC on this amp to connect it to PC instead of TV?

I have this unit and absolutely love it. I had Cambridge EVO 150 prior and this 40n sounds far superior. My speakers are Q Acoustics Concept 500s.

If you're not into streaming and need the extra power for 4 ohm speakers the model 30 is a better choice . the only streaming i do is from youtube ,which is free so i added an external bluetooth device to the 30. it works in an acceptable fashion it with unbalanced volume in the right speaker . this can be adjusted with the marantz balance control to make for a slightly better experience . i mostly use CDs for my source . the sound is very very clear with a surprisingly good soundstage with lots of separation . the amp is not as three dimensional as a tube amp but i'm liking it more and more .

Few questions if you can please answer: I have RT85 connected with Klipsch The Fives. I'm looking to upgrade my stereo system, and first I was thinking about Klipsch The Sevens, but I would like to listen to CDs too and also to be able to connect to the TV . 1. What you recommend to buy between Marantz Cinema 70 and Marantz 40n? which one has a better phono stage and works better with a CD player? Is the $1500 difference between them worth to go with 40n? I'm ok spending $2500 for the 40n if it makes more sense. (I'm not watching a lot of movies or playing games). 2. Is Marantz CD 60 the best match with 40n, or works ok with Cinema 70? 3. What bookshelf speakers you recommend up to $2000 ($2500) per pair? (I have a Klipsch Reference R-10SW 10" 300w Powered Subwoofer and I was hinking about Klipsch 600M II to match the subwoofer, but I'm ok spending more for better quality or better match with Marantz). 4. Can I replace (after 1000 hours) the 2 M Blue with the 2m Bronze cartridge on my RT 85? Thank you very much! Reply

How does the Marantz 40n work with a pair of Dynaudio Evoke 20 speakers? Would you suggest that this amp can handle those speakers?

Hello. Actual independent testing in a review! Great job! I have the 1000 Euro Marantz pm7000n which now seems to be the poor mans version of the 40n. Can the 40n be 2.5 times better than it?

Actually ...The 7000n measures pretty bad on the amplifier. I haven't measured the dac. But the Model 40 is a lot better on the amp side. It sounds better as well.

@@rikosimmo The Model 40N is much cleaner en more controlled. Better bass (better control and definition), better, more friendly mids and more open treble. It's just a better amp overall.

enjoy your reviews. you mention they use plastics, but the entire thing is aluminum and steel top, even the knobs are aluminum. You mean the plastic on the binding posts?

The front plate is not aluminum. Its some form of plastic. It's not a deal breaker though...

If you use the analog inputs, you don't use the internal dac.

Is balanced input overrated? Not available at this price range

I think it's overrated, unless if your RCA connection is over 10 feet long. Balanced does have better noise rejection over longer runs.

What is the sound difference compared to the Model 30? Do they have the same signature? Are you going to make a video with the Model 40 + Focal Sopra NO1? Try putting the same songs you used in the Model 30 video. It will be good for a comparison.

Haven't heard it good enough. But the amp is totally different in topology. So Inestimate they sound different. You can't compare the old and new samples. The mic setup and acoustics are different.

@@TheAlphaAudio The Marantz Model 30 is very musical. Then if you can listen to him with the Dynaudio Evoke 30, Heritage, ATC SCM19 V2, Focal Kanta NO1, MA Gold 200 5G. Focal Sopra NO1 became very musical with the Marantz Moldel 30. I loved the video you guys posted at the time.

@@TheAlphaAudio I've never heard a Class D like the Marantz Model 30. It's more musical than many Class ABs on the market.

The Rotel S14 for the same price seems like a much better choice for Streaming digital audio. Even the A14 mk2 for 1k less seems like a better deal

It does not do everything. It does not have USB DAC to connect it to a PC.

background music is nice but too loud to hear you talk.
