@@randy1189 We don't know how the suit actually films. It being a loose may not actually matter after lighting and color correction. It may actually work better in action poses because it can exaggerate the moves. We've seen how that's lost with skin tight cgi suits without creases(MCU Spider-man and Green Lantern).

I actually thought it was a different cosplayer, at first, lol 😅... Bryan Morton, specifically. Corenswet looks a bit like Morton in this pic, imo. I could definitely see Chris making this suit, but I could tell that definitely was not his face/hair, lol 😅

The first vibes i get. He looks like a man in a 50's spaceman suit. Something you'd see out of Flash Gordon comics. I like that. It helps sell the sci fi nature of Superman. The other is the new52 esque look. This is what I pictured what the new52 would be in reality. Not some metal armor meant to protect Superman but this thicker material with plating but still fabric and regal. CW vibes? The Superman CW suits as based on the Cavil suits. Superman and Lois suit is a damn fine suit. It's funny but Superman's costume from the movies to tv has always translated well. It's not some overly complex suit design nor uses hard to maintain patterns. Maybe it's time to start adapting some other looks(Electric Superman obviously). I think it looks fine. It's not my ideal. I personally would have like MOS suit with a real belt. The high collar might be working better here then with Routh Returns suit due to bigger S and mataining that strong upper body. The overall picture. I assume they wanted Superman to seem more casual like another day at work.

the lighting, angle and pose are doing him no favours. I'm sure the suit looks much much better in an action or more statuary pose. This was a baffling picture to show it off with.

I haven't even seen the suit yet, I wanted to wait to see it on your channel for the first time. You're the man when it comes to Superhero costumes!

@@rebelmoon9059 the Deadpool suit is covered in black panels throughout the body though. It’s probably like 70% red, 30% black which is a good mix because the red is still the primary color but the black breaks it up in enough places for it to not be too red. If you didn’t have the trunks on the Superman suit, then it’s a full blue blue body framed by a red cape and red boots. It’s too uneven that way.

Looks nice enough for me, the purple energy thingy in the back is quite foreboding. It's got my attention.

This literally killed my hype. Spirt Halloween looking ass costume.

Agree about standing up, as it looks too baggy and loose at the moment.

I honestly was expecting something similar to the texturing or padding from the suit from the later seasons of Superman and Lois, and it does have a bit of both, overall love the bright colors. The collar is something I’m not so sure about, but I might just need to see it in action. Glad we have the trunks back and I’m hoping we have the S emblem on the back of the cape.

I think the "Test" video they did for The Batman was a much better way reveal the suit for that film as it not only gave us a good look of the cowel and suit, but also gave us a great feel of the film's tone, look, cinematography and even the music. Wish they had done something similar for this.

To be honest, it’s grown on me. David is a tall dude and it will fill out when he stands up. Let’s just stand by for more action shots in the coming months. A new Superman movie is good for everything guys!

I swear, look up "Party Store Superman Halloween costume" and it will look exactly like this. I'm hating it.

Looking at it I have pretty good first impressions of the suit. At first I thought the suit looked too dark but with the high res pics and zoomed in, it's the lighting and battle damage that makes it look dark. I like the overall design and though I am a bit hesitant on the panel lines, the jury's still out until they reveal the full clean suit. Also, if you look at his crotch area, you do see a bit of red and that means RED TRUNKS BABY LETS GO. I'm quite indifferent to whether or not live action supes should wear trunks but seeing that James Gunn has pulled it off makes me really happy.

I think they honestly thought this is how they would make everybody happy. The trunks for the classic fans, the New 52 suit and boots for those fans, and the S for Kingdom Come fans and the desaturated color scheme for Snyder fans. Chris, your Hybrid suit was better and that’s *with* the place holder boots.

My first thought was New 52 with red trunks to break up the onesie... I dig it.

It's gonna take a full on, well lit, standing shot for me to really decide. It looks bulky, like thick material. The bunching in the shoulders indicates this to me and I'm worried about how it will look in action. Superman is my favorite character, I LOVE 95% of everything JG has done in the past; but so far I am not being wowed by what I'm seeing from this movie. Holt as Luthor is probably my favorite thing so far.

This makes me appreciate Zack more. Honestly if Zack chose to stay closer to the Comics with Colours, Stories and How Character's Actually Are with his Style he might have gotten Masterpiece after Masterpiece.

I love how miserable he looks while casually putting on his boots while Metropolis is being destroyed in the distance. Looks like he’s thinking “I can’t believe I have to save these idiots again”

Ironically, I think the CW (Superman and Lois) suit is a better "New 52" style suit. Albiet, with some classic suit touches. Definitely stretching the credibility that he could wear this under his clothes.

Of all the inspirations to draw from.....New 52 is what they went with? The only hope is that this is the prototype look that is abandoned by the end for something way better. It kinda comes across as an MCU Captain America suit with the S shield and a cape slapped on there.

Honestly as a huge Superman fan, this suit is not it. The new 52 suit was never great but even it was better than this. This is like a wannabe new 52 suit but it misses the mark. I definitely thought we were getting something better. Fan art was better than this.

I’m gonna be honest. The CW Superman suits have been more hits than misses. The current Superman and Lois suit, The kingdom come suit, and the first Superman suit in the flash back of Superman and Lois, are all good. I think they chose the wrong picture to reveal this suit with. But I do think it’s a solid suit for the most part. I have some nit picks.

Hey Chris! Glad you are digging the suit but yeah be cool to see some standing poses to get a proper look. But going by this photo I like what I see so far.

100% it was a strange idea to have the first photo depicting such an awkward scenario.. where the world is literally being attacked outside, but Superman is casually/grumpily suiting up in some dark empty condo-like setting with a scenic view of the city beyond the window. It’s equally strange that the first official photo of the suit is depicting it battle damaged, bunched up (like he’s wearing a muscle padded Halloween costume) and slightly obscured by the seated position he’s in. That being said, I’m still hype as f*•k. Plus my dude doesn’t need the padding, seeing how big he is now, the padding just makes him look kinda goofy. The S emblem also wrapped around his chest better in the teaser photo, in this photo it looks like it was crudely ironed on by the costume department. I get it’s likely because of his seated position, but it still felt larger and bolder in the teaser photo. I will say though… the pointless line work accents definitely evoke the recent ugly overworked costumes from the MCU… I was hoping they’d fly in the face of the hyper-detailed MCU costumes, and deliver something bold, something simple, and something more personal. With simple textures, simple fabrics, and maybe even visible stitching. Like I kinda wanted Superman’s costume to be made by Ma Kent, to really drive home that Superman doesn’t need extravagant clothing, or fancy padding… just the hand-stitched love of his mother. It would have served as a testament to the lovable wholesome farm boy that Superman’s always been. At least they embraced the red shorts. I’ve also never been a fan of the New 52 Superman costume. It too suffers from excessive line-work, and the collar almost militarizes the costume. That’s why the collar works for Injustice Superman. Having no collar, the campy red undies, the bold logo, and the simple fabrics is what helps make Superman so endearing just to look at. I know that David’s gonna kill it! I just hope that Gunn can deliver. I also hope it’s like night and day whenever we get to see more of this suit at different angles.. this gloomy reveal photo was definitely a misstep. It should have been bright, confident, and full of hope.

I got a couple thoughts on the suit, I think my biggest issue is the forearms and cuffs. Ive seen a lot of people say it looks like a jacke and I think its entirely the cuffs. If you look at the upper arms and shoulders it looks great but the forearms just look a bit loose which throws off the proportions and makes everything look kinda puffy. If the cuffs fit his forearms a little better I think it would bring the entire thing together. As for the shot itself, I love it but I do think its something that should have been saved for a promo image closer to release and not the first look at the suit. I think for me personally, whether the design works entirely comes down to whether its a kryptionian suit or whether ma kent made it. If its Kryptonian then I think its gorgeous but if its something that Ma kent was supposed to have made then I think it looks way over complicated and kinda ridiculous

We all thought it'd be Chris Reeve/Alex Ross 2.0. A little disappointed, but man let's hope for the best. No use in hating😊

The suit looks baggy and bunched up, like it’s slightly too big for him. Which is odd considering how much size he’s gained leading up to filming. It’s a really strange “reveal” image to release - I’m sure they had hundreds of others to choose from, why choose one of him sitting down like that? It’s not flattering at all. Unless it’s a red herring and the suit won’t look like that at all…

Funny thing is Gunn trashed Keaton Batman so bad but at least when people saw Keaton's reveal for the first time they praised it and left their MR mom tropes far behind.

I think anything less than a hero pose to show off the actor, suit and asthetic was the wrong foot to start the promotion off on for the brand new DCU. Awkward, loose and obscured was a choice. We'll see if it's the correct one.

I’ve been waiting for you to say somethin. I think we need to know the context of the scene. The boots are fine. Never was a fan of the New 52. The way Gunn kept describing the movie I was expecting it to harken back to a classic look. I don’t know why Hollywood is obsessed with texture. Texture works on landscapes paintings. Not costumes. Contrast of lights and darks can’t bring just as much visual interest as texture. Also I think fans will compare this to that 1st image of MoS. Say what you will about Snyder, he’s great at visuals. I think we need to se More for sure. They should’ve just gotten those guys you got the Reeve suit from to make the costume lol

I don’t think it is as good as the BvS suit but it looks 10x better than Reeves suit. I am disappointed that the underwear is coming back, I would have preffered a full New52 style, but I do like it. I like the textures, it looks very alien and very modern. I also like that it looks a darker blue than the Reeves blue. I do hope that if he has got the S emblem on the back, then it’s in black like New52.
