Always love John's playing, and he's the perfect guy to demo this guitar. His country/jazz chops are so tasty.
Such a gorgeous guitar
Wow! That's way more versatile than I would have thought.
that guitar its so beautiful! i think im in love
I love the way John B plays !!!! So awesome with stellar tones!!!
First time I ever heard "Linus and Lucy" on the guitar. That was great, John!
I m sold.
Just love it !!!!
Boy!!! Got to say when I think of "Premier Guitar", it's YOUR Premier playing that brings me back. Your engaging interview and review skills don't hurt, but this stuff, right here in this video, is some of the best on the web. Much admiration here, along with a little envy. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods so I could get to one of your gigs. One of my best old acoustics is a Guild, so it has a mojo for me.

Lovin' the natural hair "Silver Fox" look! Great player, great reviews, thank you!
That slide sounds great!
Sounds terrific.....
john, youre awesome!!!!
😮 I love it!!
Great big bass sound ...sweet
Texas swing machine. D"Armond makes a killer silicon string bass as well, great pick-ups.
Great overview, John! Love the Peanuts at the end!
Awesome!
Very cool guitar. Love it when a guitar looks as good as it soujdsb
Great guitar! Very versatile, great tones!
That is one versatile instrument in the hands of someone like you!
Awesome
That guitar sounds fantastic! Great review!
John makes me want another one.
wow some brilliant playing
I could only imagine what you could do with that guitar when you are on stage. A great sound!
Bought this after your review love it to bits
thanks for doing the reveiw
Old Guilds have some of the nicest necks. Interested in trying a newer one.
Good looking guitar as well
Wonderful demo John. You're the only part of Premier Guitar that I miss since I cancelled my subscription. Well done Sir.
i dig Guild guitars
Came here to give Mr. B a thumbs-up for his playing.
He likes it! Hey Mikey!
Sorry I am late! Sounds great! but do you know how this one compares to the x-175B? It looks like one of those guitars one could pick if you could only have 1
I have a 1978 Blonde model. Plays like butter!
John can play for sure
I enjoyed the Charlie Brown
I would like to see a video where somone put one of these up against a Gretsch G5420T or better yet a G5125T from the later 2000s when they had DeArmond Pickups. I also wonder if these have a sound bar something connecting to the front to the back like Gretsch does. I had/have ( never really play it anymore) a Ibanez Artstar AF75TDG-IV it was hallow with no tone post no trestle block and it howled with feed back and not super destorted or loud. I don't know of any place close by to check one of these out so I want to find out as much as I can via video.
Sounds pretty luscious. Even with John's hack playing. :-)
So good...💙
I've always loved dynasonics for their thumpy bass response.
jo John, I am waiting now for my blonde - I am interested about the difficult sound between this pickups and the P90 where I played a week ago with the other modell …
Picked this up used for a steal and Wow! Awesome guitar so playable and enjoyable… quality is right up there with my USA made Gibson & Fenders. I actually prefer it to my Japanese Gretsch.
You’re the shit John❤️
only that strap is official for that beauty with that super de armond
Guild hollow bodies just sound great - like Gretsch's on steroids! Great guitars for the money to be sure.
Looked at the electromatics but when I heard these pickups that was it . It's not cheap but it's not mega expensive . So we'll built too
I have an question about this Guild X-175 model, because they have an orange one and it looks like it has an P90 (by the looks) wanted to ask are they different pickups or just the "design" . Excuse if dumb question, thanks for Your playing thou'' !

They are really different pickups. The pickups you describe are franz pickups. Think of them as p 90 pickups indeed.
Hi everyone. One question. The guitar is beautiful (a bit out of my league). For more or less the same money would you buy this one or a Grestch. Thanks in advance and keep safe

If you go Gretsch go Electromatic instead of Streamliner. (South Korean versus Chinese.). Better quality and during the holidays Guitar Center has em on sale for about $680-$720.00. You'll probably have to have it set up elsewhere as I don't have much confidence in their services anymore.

Great video. Hey, a question, anyone. I have a Gretsch 5420t which is great. I saw this beautiful guitar and I,m in love. Do you think its worth it or wont be much different from the Gretsch. I would appreciate your opinions because I,m no expert. Thanks a lot and keep safe

@@gretschguild thank you very much for your answer. I alresdy bought it 3 months ago and, man, am I happy. It's a great great guitar with a really rich sound and a pleasure to play. It was a little bit of an economic sacrifice for me but I,m glad I did it. The price is incredible for the quality. Anyway, thanks a lot for your answer and keep safe!
Great tone from this guitar, but I did dig it when John unleashed Hell.
What does it sound like without pedals?
This i a duane eddy mashine. Bought it un blonde.
John, the guitar looks nice, the bridge pick up seemed a little middy, I thought dearmonds were brighter sounding. almost chimey. Are these voiced different than the old dearmonds ?

Some mighty fine pickin my friend! I just bought a new blonde Starfire VI and am wondering why it has no serial number, especially considering the fact that the guild.com website lists them for over $2,000. And when I Googled the question there was not even one answer to be found. Can you explain why such an expensive guitar has no serial number?

@@docdeens4030 Thanks my friend. I looked in the F-hole and found it. This blonde Starfire VI is the best playing guitar I ever had in my 75 year life. After once having owned a music store in Laguna Beach, CA back in the early 1960s, I have collected more than a hundred of the highest end Gibsons of which I still have most of them at my house right now, and in terms of quality and playability none of them can compare with this guitar. I don't even pull them out their cases anymore. I can't walk past it without picking it up and playing it. I'm going to purchase several more of them just so I'll have them before Cordoba Music Group takes them out of production, that from my understanding will be soon.

I'm a huge Gretsch fan and now own 3 of them one being the iconic White Falcon. The electmatics are the Duo and Pro Jet. I love them all and have great versatility. I recommend them everytime, but if your heart is set on the Guild? Go for it mate as reviews say is a great guitar. A big difference (among other things) are the filtertron pickups gretsch have.

Race is irrelevant. Guitars are mass-produced offshore in Korea, China, Indonesia, Mexico for a reason. Cheaper parts/materials are used and cheap labor employed. These factories can make perfectly acceptable guitars, but they aren't worth $1500. Similar guitars from these same factories can be had for around $500. Is this guitar really 3x better?
