Fuzzy, one of my favortie bikes of my past was a Honda VLX 600cc cruiser. It was a lot of fun to ride. With larger bikes we lose a lot of the fun. The biggest problem with the VLX is that it was only a four speed and virbrated a lot at highway speeds. The Royal Enfied Suoer Metoer 650 with it's six speed gear box seems to have a very relaxed rpm at highway speeds. It just seems to me to be the PERFECT bike.and that is a BIG WAHOO.

It's very unique & quite a looker. The only thing I don't like are the spoked wheels but I could get used to them especially for ease of cleaning. Shaft drive would have been nice. At first I thought they were trying to compete with the 883 Sportster but upon looking at your review this is in a class of it's own. Class on top of class. This is why I love Royal Enfield.

I am not a cruiser fan, but if I were to get a cruiser, it wouldn't be one with chain drive. These days cruisers are just about the only category of motorcycle where you can still have alternatives to chain drive, everything else on the market is all chains. And chain drive sucks, so to me Royal Enfield missed the mark by not giving the Super Meteor a belt or a shaft. But apart from the chain it's a very nice bike.

  • @forgottenmotorcycles

I agree. I’ve owned a few Enfield’s before and love them. Currently riding a Moto Guzzi and the shaft drive makes it very difficult to ever consider anything else again. Just getting on and riding without even a second thought to check, adjust, etc a chain is heaven. Nonetheless, absolutely love this new Enfield and glad to see them continue to grow

That is one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen. I only have one real gripe which is that I would prefer that the "clocks" were the same as the Interceptors. I really like having a traditional Speedometer and Tachometer which are the same size and the Speedo is on the left and Tach on the right. Having a big meter on the left and a little thing on the right just really bugs me. It's like some OCD thing I suppose. I wonder if there is a way to buy the Super Meteor and put the Interceptor clocks (Meters, Dials, etc.) on it?

@forgottenmotorcycles too late for that I offered my local dealership 8,000 out the door on the green one, he accepted, and I put 2500 down on it. I added up all the fees plus the MSRP, and it totaled 9,000. So buy bying it site unseen I saved 1000 dollars. He told me it could show up any time between end of November to March. I would like March best. Because of the huge demand and having seen the green in videos, that's the color I chose. I am retired U.S army so I an drawn to anything green.

This could be something up my alley. Owned a couple of Enfields in the past and age is setting in. Lower back tends to ache a bit after an hour or so on a standard/slightly forward leaning bike. Cruisers always have been super comfortable to me with that legs forward and kind of recliner style seating position. Any ideas what this would comfortably cruise at on the freeway? Also, is Enfield offering upgraded mufflers for some killer sound on this? Have to point out, that’s amazing of Enfield to include a center stand. Rare to see that anymore

I've only done about a half a dozen miles on the interstate. Had it at 75 without a problem at all. After I get a thousand miles on it I'll try to do a higher speed test over longer period of time. Baxtercycle.com offers several options for aftermarket pipes on these bikes. Don't Impulse buy Fuzzy take your time do a few rides on it first & compare it to Interceptor. The extra weight has been countered by a different map more aggressive down low I think 🤔 so there's not alot of difference between them.Alot more premium & Showa forks & no cast metal parts.I was going to by one but would've had to pre-order & the weight put me off after my accident as I park my bikes in a front wheel motorcycle chock & have to wroosh(push) it in & my weak ankles not up to it.Also I thought cruiser seating position be bad for my twisted arthritic spine on long rides.I want my mate to get one so I can ride for awhile to see how body holds up.I can see you getting one & yelling triple Wahoo.

@@forgottenmotorcycles Not as nimble but apparently they mapped it so it keeps up with the Interceptor & GT might be ⅒ slower barely noticeable they reckon on reviews I seen.Cruisers are well balanced out of corners from just before apex out if corner as long as corner not to sharp & most corners aren't to sharp unless in real twisty stuff.Cruisers shed alot of speed due to their weight when throttle off before corners & lighter up right riding position bikes are faster into corners as they carry better speed.I notice this with the Harley Davidsons I ride with coming upto corners they get in the way & my bike carrying way more speed I pass them at end of straight going into corners & then they use their torque to pass me on way out 😂🤣& they all do it as HD don't like being passed by a 650-660cc bike ½-⅓ their size😂🤣. Either I pass them or I have to change the way I ride & brake way earlier so I can stay behind them. The Harley's got so much torque that when they open up the throttle they put 30meters on me instantly but by 45m my bike up in the revs & carrying more speed they in way again. If I was a better rider & ringed it out probably match them but I don't ride like that.In the real twisty stuff my bike alot better being nimble. If I use quick shifter actually faster but they're better riders than me & I take it easy around corners.
