This Video Is About Giving You The First Look At The American Fiction Movie With Interviews From The Cast And Crew.
AMERICAN FICTION is Cord Jefferson's hilarious directorial debut, which confronts our culture’s obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.

Just saw it today. Sitting in the theater, I realized that this is now probably one of my favorite movies. The screenplay is smart and nuanced, and full of characters that feel real. Go - it's worth your time.

I American Fiction yesterday. It was a great movie, funny, thought provoking, endearing, and just thoroughly entertaining! Judging from the mixed but mostly Black audience, it was loved by all. Jeffrey Wright was great. But, Mama Leslie Uggams was won-der-ful!!! Sterling K. Brown was totally different in a good way. Erica Alexander - I wanted to see more of her geatness. And, Issa Rae, Tracy Ellis Ross and Keith David... SMH. Top notch casting all the way. It's only in limited release but it is in art house theaters in most areas. I'm in Detroit, a large market, but it's only in one theater. I expect it will get a wider release after the Golden Globes. That statue should be going home to several members of the cast and crew!

First the movie is absolutely incredibly wonderful and has brought so much joy to my life that I not only want to see it again but I want to know more about the novelist, the writer director and the cast. These interviews go a long way helping me to understand what I saw but how the actors approached and performed their roles. It seems like everyone associated with this film are strivers for excellence just like the protagonist of the film thank you for these interviews ❤

AF is the best feature I've seen in the last 5 years. When it dropped I saw it 4 times in the first week... I couldn't get enough. I tell my friends it was like being infected with a virus, a really great, stimulating and thought-provoking virus. It just wouldn't let me go, and my life is so much richer for it. THANK YOU, Cord Jefferson AND Percival Everett

There are some very interesting interviews here. HOWEVER, I recommend not watching this until after you have seen the movie at least once, because the editor edited out all the questions. As a result, we sometimes see one of the actors talking about someone or something that is not identified. If you've seen the movie, you can figure it out. But if not, that cound be a little confusing at times. The person who did the original editing on this might want to go back and add captions at those points.

Fantastic movie. Want to see it again. The acting was so good. But am I the only one who thought the 3 siblings did not look at all like siblings?

Excellent movie I need to go see again….. it’s funny because I literally wanted to start a discussion in the theatre after the movie I had a reaction to what I perceive as colorism in the character and story development
