Hey John Chan! Absolutely loved the way you demonstrated putting the parts together on this video. I could not find the connecting piece required to connect the hose blowing operation until you said quote I wonder where this piece it's hiding? All I can say is that old expression a picture is worth 1000 words really fits here!

Glad to have helped! It’s been a couple years and this thing is still as powerful and useful as the first day! Just the other day I was actually using it to pick up some mulch that was left all over the lawn after the flower beds were mulched. You should have seen my neighbors face as I was vacuuming the lawn LOL

I just got one of these and I noticed there are no dust bags for it anymore. There used to be at one time, though. The intake adapter inside the collection bin is no longer fitted with a recess that the collection bags can attach to. The bags have a cardboard piece that is supposed to connect to this recess, which has been filled in with a plastic adapter apparently. There used to be a recess there for the bag to affix to. Not sure if you can still make the bag work. But without the bag you will have a gigantic dust bunny wrapped around the filter every time you try to clean or empty the unit. There will be a giant puff of very fine dust that you'll inhale into your face. (You might still have some of this with the dust bag.) But what I cannot figure is why did they remove the option of the dust bag? It would make cleaning the unit much easier. No gigantic dust bunny around the filter. Your filters might last longer. And no dust-filled "puff-of-death" every time you try to empty the unit. Any ideas on why this decision would have been made?

The latching mechanism of this model is clumsy compared to the 20l european model. Its a bit different with diffirent functionality. But the mechanism is much better on that model

muffler is just a noise reducer

So, does it suck and blow at the same time? Is that why the muffler is needed?

Yep it does do both at the same time. Without the muffler (which doubles as a diffuser) the air coming out will just blow the dust around behind the vacuum.

@@Jon_Chan Man... I just got the Vacmaster VBVB611PF today, and it doesn't come with a muffler/diffuser. I didn't know it would blow at the same time while vacuuming. Do you know if other shop vacs with a blower function behave the same way?

Yea they all have the same operating method. The air that gets sucked up has to come out somewhere, so it always does both at the same time. I had an old Craftsman shop vac where the air coming out would always direct down, which was really annoying when you try to turn it on in a shop full of saw dust. Everything just blew everywhere. I looked up a muffler for it and it solved the issue. But then the vac just died a couple months later.
