It's not a patch on their classic paint jobs, but it stands out as a lot better than most contemporary colour choices. Then again, the colour schemes from the 70s to the 90s would look out of place on a bike with such a modern silhouette.

GCN needs to do a video where you come up with some new subcategories for gravel riding. Start with describing a use case for a type of gravel bike and then spitball some names for that category of bike. Mountain bikes seem to do this every few years and then manufacturers make bikes that fit that category and use case. "Gravel bike" is too broad now and customers need a bit of help navigating their way to the right bike for them. BTW, that Colnago is beautiful and I'm going to categories it as "silver fox gravel". It's going to be purchased by someone of a certain age and a certain means to ride at a certain speed on a nice day taking the bumpier route to the cafe. They aren't the fastest but they don't care because they can sit there with their espresso while everyone compliments them on how lovely their bike is.

I don't have a problem with Colnago prices. I had a C40 and rode it for 16 years and sold it for a good price when I replaced it with a C60. I value the quality and reliability. Getting the C60 out for the first time after the rough winter weather always feels great. The problem I have is with the way the industry has gone with gravel bikes. To me a gravel bike with wide tyres, especially commenters here asking for 50mm wide tyres, is nothing other than a 1980's mtb with drop bars. Looking at some of the terrain that the C68 was being ridden on is what I get my mtb out for. If the C68 Gravel had the lugs for touring I'd order one tomorrow.

Looks like a bike I would like to try and the frame looks amazing! Only thing I think could be improved is tire width. Tires are getting wider and wider in road cycling, but also in gravel cycling as they tend to be the faster choice in many circumstances. 50mm tires should fit in a modern day gravel bike.

Colnago, Pinarello, De Rosa ... all of these premium brands got pushed out when bikes changed from stylish pieces of art, and there was a move towards (the historically sneered at by road riders) Cannondale, Trek, etc, carbon bikes ... its a shame .. but its like Rolls Royce .. they no longer feel the premium item they once were, and its just a badge

Colnago’s entire business model is to take the high watermark of their competitors MSRP, add approximately 30% and go to market. People who buy Colnago’s products don’t buy them because they’re good bikes, they buy them because they’re Colnago. That’s not to say that they aren’t great bikes, they are, they’re just absolutely horrible value because they have no interest in being a good value.
