Not a hatchback guy but this Mazda 3 changed my mind

The torsion beam suspension saves weight and makes the Mazda 3 quieter which it used to be critized for. For the record, Mercedes A-Class also uses torsion beam. 95% of drivers would not tell the difference.

Hopefully there is no CKD for future Mazda models. Price for Mazda 3 are acceptable. I owned a Mazda CX-5 KF 2.0GLS for 1year and 4 months, I faced a lot of defects. Example, 1. Both side mirror cannot be retract anymore (waiting for claim) 2. Both side of the piano black garnish cracked and cost me RM199 for one. (I paid for the first one that happened on July 2018) - Mazda HQ refused to claim for me and explained that I'm the first one and the only one who complaint back in July 2018. [The first piano black garnish cracked on July 2018 and the second piano black garnish cracked on this month (July 2019)]. - [In this few months, I found out that quite some numbers driver who own a CX-5 KF 2.0GLS or above specs, get to claim with Mazda HQ. Called Mazda HQ again, they stated that they did not claimed for others owner too. Once last advise from Mazda HQ was, "If you(me) want to get the claim, I(Mazda HQ) want u to get the owners' name and car plate registration number for proof."] 3. Paint Quality are so POOR & THIN. Good Things about CX-5, 1. Interior Quality and Design 2. Exterior Design 3. Performance 4. Safety Lastly, Mazda After Sales Service are so POOR. Honda/Perodua After Sales Service are even BETTER.

Definitely the most good looking car in its segment. A bit pricey so just gonna wait for the CKD version.

CKD low spec will be 135K and high spec is 155k :p

The hatch really stands out when I see one on the road.

For those that say over priced. Please la. Go to Mazda showroom to had a test drive. Then only you talk.

I sort of agree as an owner of a 2.5l in OZ. The 1.5l is definitely a no no due to power - weight ratio. However this engine trim will never be popular in MY due to most are just every day car owners, the unwillingness to pay for the extra road tax cost. The 2.0l trim cost rm160k (OZ with the same specs only cost AU$32k before dealership discount), so imagine a 2.5l would probably be around rm180k++, means again no business justification in MY (OZ AU$42k before dealership discount). Don't think most people would be mentally prepared nor willing to spend that money for a Mazda.

I think i will be in hatchback because more younger look and also get sunroof 😍 maybe just for cbu but no bose sound system 🤔

Malaysian waiting CKD version which is adfordable price...

@@RedzaImran no CKD unfortunately for the 3. Only cx 3 and 5 available in CKD. 😢

CBUs’ shud have come with turbos and with 200+ ponies.. cuz every class leaders were already charged their C-Segs except aging Altis.. let’s wait for the Skx-X, see it can do wonders against turbos..

No manual transmission option?

The hatch is definitely better compared to the sedan

What most concern me is the resale value . Lets see in what price it wil drop in 4yrs time . With that price we have lots of option in market nowadays . Cant deny the good looks but just dont worth it 😞

In my opinion, DRL should be LED as well for the base model and its price.

Alfa Romeo use to make the best looking hatchback but this Mazda3 HB takes the cake. I believe many buyers will wait for the local CKD to save some $$$ & hopefully will iron out any glitches encountered. IMO, the Mazda3 HB is the best looking car in M'sia.

Great video, very thorough and informative! However with regards to the car, RM140k for the baseline, getting only 150 Nm of torque, I'd be severely disappointed. CBU standards of production would only get you so far

Well you get a good interior so i don't see a problem.

Their target market are for the people who want to buy Mercedes A class and vw golf. I think the price is right.

You forgot to mention the top spec i active sense of malaysia version doesn't have CTS auto steering correction. it is obvious in the steer wheel button that the CTS button is missing in malaysia top spec version. taiwan version got.

Why no sunroof?

If the 1.5 variant was fitted with a turbo engine, this car could be the best c class sedan while satisfying emissions laws.

Is the hatchback manual transmition available in malaysia?

Madness price.... At RM140K , CX5 base model is a better buy, not to mentioned X70, HRV, CRV etc...

I'll go for the high specs hatch. Not too overly priced. Very cosy interior.

Design wise personally not to my liking. The shape and silhouette is nice, but it's let down by the tiny lights and windows. Just feel that there is too much metal and that the proportion could be better

Mazda should have put a new engine or atleast a turbocharged 1.5 liter old mill

Back windows too small, it's hard to see your blinds pots. Sure it has blinspot monitors, but you shouldn't rely solely on that.

Extremely sexy looking car , very efficient engine , very high torque, no sure how good is the piston ring can handle the high compression ...

The new one is nice, but just too overpriced, and it lost the multilink suspension, honestly i still prefer the old one with gvc

I wonder why most of the people choose toyota, honda , proton. Perodua instead if mazda , mitsu ,volkswagen maybe because easy maintenance and cost efficient?

Cars manufacturers should stop putting halogen DRLs on their cars. If you cant incorporate the LED DRL into the headlamps, just put it as a strip on other place.

No doubt in my opinion mazda is above toyota nissan and honda in my book bcos i drive one now and it hardly give me problem at all. But does it justified the premium? Its not exactly the lexus of toyota for example.

No doubt amazing design and elegant look but too pricey compare to other competitors..

Hmm... Once I agreed that 2 Asian car maker produce the best looking car, Hyundai & Mazda. But now, Mazda making a very simplified exterior design, too plain to my taste, it’s like producing the shape straight from clay design. I’m not sure about u, but this is not my taste.
