In the manga's version , Naoki explains to at the time sixteen-year-old younger brother that at the first he considered Kotoko's constant declarations of love like very boring spells, but when Kotoko told to Naoki that she was going to stop love him, he felt a great sadness on his heart instead of feeling relieved .. obviously he didn't tell to Yuki that he kissed her ;) however he offers an explanation. This scene was also in the latest episodes of Mischievous kiss love in tokyo 2

Well my personal thought is that he kissed her to make sure she wouldn’t be able to forget it or him. Whatever she said to him, she got a reaction from him. You can see the ways his eyes move. She struck a cord.

I wanted her with Kin at first. For the first like 12 episodes. I thought he was an asshole. And he still was when it ended. However, he did have a lot of growth as a character and it was evident that he loved her and she did have influence over him. The entire Irie family plus Kotoko and her dad was a fun riot. The show was funny and I loved the supporting characters.

Just rewatching this in 2019 and at this point, he's attracted to her but he isn't aware of it himself. It's like an immature way of showing it with all the teasing and 'Serves you right' comment. To be honest, every time Kotoko was ready to give up on him, he always did something to stop it without confronting it properly. Yet didn't want to let her go, immature I know...

When I was young I never understood Irie,how he fall in love with her?He can easily betrays her cause he knows she loves him so much and would accept no matter what he did,he would play her feelings. But know I understand,without Kotoko, Irie is nothing,he knows that no one would love him with this personalty always has to act for being loved by someone but only Kotoko loved him no matter why and he knows that Kotoko would effects him good (everybody liked him for his appearance yeah, at first Kotoko was also but she never give up her love although knowing him real personality)
