To drive forward the energy transition, huge wind turbines are needed at sea to harvest powerful sea winds and supply green electricity for the mainland. The dimensions of modern offshore wind turbines are now enormous. So are the challenges for handling their gigantic components. The first Liebherr LR 12500-1.0 crawler crane to be delivered, including a seven-and-a-half wide HighPerformanceBoom, had its first job in the port of Rostock. The completely newly developed crane bolide had to lift almost 90-meter-long foundation pillars into the water.

Faszinierenf für mich ist nicht alleine der Ingenieur der dieses Ding plant, sondern viel mehr die Arbeiter die den Kran mit Toleranzen von einigen zehntel Millimetern zusammenschweißen. Dort hilft dir der Arbeiter von Timejob bestimmt nicht weiter.

nice, but when you buy one, do you have to ask for it to be rigged first?, as this looks like a giants Lego set. ( lets hope they give better instructions than Ikea to assemble it!).

interesting developements ,the centre part (hipbone and turntable) is totally designed to become the absolute hub to connect everything around ... and the crane divided in pieces it can be transported everywhere and pass roads and bridges. Impressing technology !!

What was the massive pipe for? And why were they immersing it? That’s one freaking colosal piece of crane, what kind of engine is the one responsible to power the tracks?

These pipes are monopiles for offshore wind turbines. They are manufactured by EEW Group in Rostock, Germany

@@discoverymoi Well, they are transported on ship depending on destination ans usecase, but can also transported floating in water when closed off, which requires smaller ships

nice video hope future have 3500ton or 4000ton lr crane however i know not impossible

Liebherr HLC 295000 offshore crane is a favourite of mine, can lift upto 5000 tonnes & a maximum lifting height of 175 metres above deck.

Ich stelle mir immer zu die Frage, wie hebt man die neues WKA ( Haus ) an? Denn selbst ein WKA mit nur 5 MW ist so groß und so schwer wie ein EFH. Dann kommt ihr mit solchen Videos um die Ecke und ich kann daran glauben, das du 15 MW WKA wirklich montieren kannst und das kein Fake ist. # Man stelle sich vor, da passt was nicht ! Aber Liebherr baut ja jeden Kran einmal zur Probe bei sich auf, auch wenn das bei dem alles so neu ausschaute, als ob es wirklich das erste mal gewesen wäre.

What a beast! its wild to see what the EU is going to spend to do the wind energy scam. We have nothing even close here in California. It always blows me away seeing how big these machines are!
