Liebherr - LG 1750 with SX3 in wind power

More powerful and stable in the wind - that is a rough summary of the main benefits that Liebherr has delivered for its customers in the form of its innovative SX2 and SX3 boom systems for crawler and lattice boom cranes. The reinforced booms are particularly helpful for wind power crane operations. The SX3 version delivers a major increase in lifting capacity of 20 percent and significantly higher wind tolerance compared to the conventional SX version. A new Liebherr LG 1750 crane, which was fitted with the SX3 version, operating at a wind farm in February benefited from these features. The lattice boom mobile crane operated by Dutch crane contractor M. Verschoor B.V. erected two Vestas turbines in the north-east of Germany with hub heights of 170 metres.

I worked on bridge cranes for 5 years in a factory and got hooked on various crane videos. I see Liebherr cranes about every day driving across the Midwest USA assembling wind turbine towers. Awesome!

Saw this Crane in Flevopolder last week, very impressive and amazing that the subframe can support such an enormous boom.

Is this the same crane model used in assembling at the launch tower the Starship of SpaceX?

The SpaceX launch tower was assembled using a Liebherr LR11350, with the Liebherr "powerboom" installed, a double main boom, as well as a jib to reach the required max height, and a secondary counterweight tray in back. After tower was completed, the LR11350 was used for a test "lift and stack" of the starship booster and ship. Later the LR11350 was used to lift the tower "arms" aka the "chopsticks", in a tandem lift with a Liebherr LR11000 in the SL8F2 configuration.

After the launch tower was assembled, SpaceX took delivery of a Liebherr LR11000 in the SL8F2 configuration that they purchased from Liebherr, painted in custom SpaceX themed black and white colors. The LR11000 SL8F2 configuration is a compact LR11000 without a derrick, and with a small fixed jib called the F2 fixed jib. Another LR11000 crane in SL8F2 setup is also on site at SpaceX Starbase, on rental from Buckner Heavy Lift crane rentals.

it's cheaper to build for one purpose only , compair it with a bicycle that can fold , thats more difficult to build and weighes more that a lightweight bike thats not foldable . so buying a crane that builds more windmills is cheaper and produces longer lifespan windmills
