Hello po, I just saw your vlog while browsing KZread. Ang pathway ko naman po is live-in caregiver back in 2004 pa when I first landed in Canada. Just like your situation, ako naman po ay CPA sa Pilipinas earning good paying job. Pero pumasok na caregiver sa Canada and was treated as like a slave by my employer. Tiniis ko po iyun for 2 years in order to get my permanent residence status. During those period working as a live-in caregiver, naghanap po ako ng volunteer work in public accounting office. I courageously knocked on doors and inquired to see if I can go work for them for free. It was my step stone to go back to the accounting field. It is true that my CPA is not created at all here in Canada. So nagtiis ako at nag-aral ulit sa CPA School of Business. Yung company where I volunteered has offered me my first accounting job as soon as natapos ko na yung live-in caregiver program. Pero the battle is really finishing my education here in Canada. Pinagtyagaan ko talaga, inabot pa ako ng 10 yrs pero sa wakas nakapasa na rin ako ng exam nila dito so now I am a licensed CPA here in Canada. I just want to share this to you because you will experience a lot of struggles living in Canada na minsan you will feel you want to give up but please remember the quote from Winston Churchill "Success is not final, Failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts". Continue to pursue your dream of going back to your law career no matter how hard or how long it will take because at the end of it all, it is ALL WORTH IT!

nung bagong dating kami sa canada, tinuruan kami ng sister ko how canadians use certain words para mas ma understand ka nila at mas madali ang communication. sobrang na appreciate ko yon at gusto ko din i share sa mga bagong dating hoping na hindi sila ma offend.... kagaya nung rubber shoes, tinatawanan ng canadians sabi nila boink boink😁 tawag nila runners. yung "negative "temperature sa kanila "minus".. bag is purse , yung bag is shopping bags or supot, yung Newfoundland is "Newfinland".. madami pa nakalimutan ko lang 😉 Cheers✌

I think it depends though kc some whites that I heard, they usually use purse when it comes to wallet & all rubbers shoes they call them sneakers. But then ur ryt we shld use lots of expression , idioms etc that they are using its a big help. Cheers to us

I hope that moving to Canada pays off, and I'm sure that you had a short, medium, and long-term strategy PRIOR to moving to Canada. At this point, I would make a milestone schedule so that I would know when to "back out" and go back to PI.

Mayroon pang tinatawag na wind chill. Malamig talaga, kahit sa buwan ng March. I was there in Toronto for a 2-week visit sometime in March 1989. More Power, God Bless.

Super lamig na diyan sa inyo. Dito sa amin sa Quebec di pa nag snow. Ingat kayo at bundle up lagi mahirap ma frostbite. Try nyo din po bili ng grabber warmer sa costco or walmart pwede nyo syang ilagay sa ilalim loob ng gloves at meron din para sa paa. Mag start lang syang uminit once na nabuksan mo sya. Ingat kaya

Get a scarf to cover your face para mabawasan ang lamig sa face or if not available, a surgical (Covid) mask can help a bit. Make sure your family have already received your flu shots, it’s very important specially for the kid in day care. Kids in day care are very susceptible to all viruses and usually they are always sick with a cold or cough or worse a fever. East coast weather is brutal during winter time unlike in the west coast (Vancouver) which is a lot milder.

You are going to be fine. We worked in FortMc. At first we got sick cuz we over layered our body. If you are walking, buy Balaclava hoodie or just neck warmer that can cover your nose and mouth pag super cold. There are gloves that you are able to use while using your phone.

Your skill set demands that you apply for jobs in the legal field. There are menial, low paying jobs in that field. The trick is to get your foot in the door of law firms. Jobs such as receptionist, filing clerk, documents, break room attendants etc. You will in a few short months be noticed by the firm due to the way you carry yourself. You will obviously know way around the law firm , and they quietly evaluate you as you work in the firm. Dont waste your time working outside your field of expertise . It will just set you back even more.

Watching this vid reminded me of my ate who is a doctor. When she first went to Canada 9 years ago, she started work at a grocery chain before eventually landing her dream job in the hospital. You really have to swallow ur pride if you plan to migrate in Canada. Imagine initially working as a janitor or laundry woman or gardener. I salute you all who did that

Wear ear cover , wear thick wool scarf to cover your nose too, kahit mata lang Ang nakalabas, I even wear protective/surgical eyeglasses kasi masakit din sa Mata Ang sobrang lamig. I live in Minnesota pero Hanggang negative 10 lang Ang na experience ko. Ingatan Ang katawan Hindi porke kaya . Ang Pilipinas very humid, in Canada pag winter very dry Ang air plus the heater makes the air more dry, install humidifier sa home . Saludo Ako sa inyong mag Asawa.

Hi Emma, keep doing what you think is right for your situation. What works with your family and schedules. I read some of the comments advising you not to stick on another field far from your line of career. Hindi po kasi tayo parepareho ng sitwasyon. Gaya ko nuon na Architect and used to be a consultant in Saudi Arabia nahirapan akong makapasok ng talagang trabaho ko so I tried every opportunity nandyan nag-janitor, laundryman, courier, seimen operator and lastly as quality inspector in a big window company. Alam nyo after being so flexible taking all the job available it helped me develop a no fear losing a job because I proved myself that I can do anything that keeps us survive. Now I’m retired and enjoying the life together with my family. We’re just travelling and going for a holiday in the Philippines especially during the Christmas season. You both are doing great..

Nako Atty. Baka maubos sweldo mo dyan. Ganda ng mga bilihin dyan. Ingat Atty!😊 Atty maganda ang Canada lalo na sa mga nag me menopause. Malayong malayo kapa sa menopause Atty. Sinabi ko lang na maganda ang lamig sa mga babaeng nag me menopause. Si Auntie ko para daw syang sinisilaban pero dahil sa Canada sya okay feeling nya. Pag summer aircon daw sya.

I remember my sister and my brother in law. They used to live in Edmonton but after how many years they are now live in Victoria B.C. in Canada. Both of them went back to school sa una talagang Hirap. Double job yong sister ko while my brother in law went back to school then my student loan pa sila na $30,000 yong brother in law ko dahil Canadian citizen na siya. After graduating then pumasa and thank God Engineer na siya. Then my sister naman ang sumunod nag aral din after naging Canadian citizen din. Ang dami din nilang pinag daanan pero God is good talaga. They are renting 1 10:00 10:03 bedroom apartment with their daughter na nasa college of nursing na. They are planning to buy a house in Victoria or thinking to move to B Vancouver soon. Hanggang ngayon double job pa rin sister ko para makuha yong isa niyang anak na naiwan sa pinas

Kaya mo yan kabayan,just wear a bonnet and scarf,kayang kaya yan kabayan.

Nice Video. My positive advice try mong mag apply not in retails subukan mo sa mga office na related sa iyong profession kahit sa mababang position lang. Like clerk or process server. Importante ang makapasok ka sa mga industry na related sa profession mo. Please don't get me wrong. Noong nag migrated ako sa US pinilit ko rin na pasukin kung anong tinapos ko at work ko sa Pinas sa awa ni Lord 20 years ginagamit profession ko. That's my positive advice at samahan mo na rin ng Pray. Goodluck po!

mas okay kung may hood ang coat at may scarf sa leeg up to face para hindi ramdam ng mukha ang lamig at magsuot din ng thermal pants para hindi ramdam ng legs ang lamig, yung shoes din mahalaga na pang snow para hindi madulas at hindi manigas ang paa at gloves para hindi manigas ang kamay :)

pwede ka siguro ate kumuha ng test para ma ka pirma ng mga notaryo ba tawag dun.... may kilala ako nun dyan sa real estate office sya nag wwork and same time nag nnotaryo

malaking adjustment ang ginagawa niyo po. sana po makapag open kayo agad ng TFSA, alam kong tight ang budget pero yan ang dapat ding isaalang alang para sa inyong kinabukasan at maginvest sa index fund. madaming lagi na lang nagwowork hanggang pagtanda pero hindi naginvest sa stocks. pwede niyo pong piliin na maginvest sa index fund diyan o dito sa sp500 dito sa US.

For some, not really from scratch. Yan din ang naririnig ko nung sa pinas pa ako. Teacher ako sa pinas, kaya nung papunta ako dito, hinanda ko na ang sarili ko na maging janitor o di kayay gardener... ganern hehehe... pero sinwerte ako kasi naging first job ko while waiting for my teaching certification was a day care teacher. Then just exactly a year since I arrived, I became an Ontario Certified Teacher. So nakapag-apply na ako sa public school board

Naku Lawyer po pla kayo sa Pinas, sana napag isipan nyong mabuti ang pag punta nyo sa Canada. Aside from financial readiness which is mostlikely marami kayong baong. Maraming pride ang lulunukin nyo. Pero pag nalagpasan nyo yan worth it naman. Tulad ng sinasabi ng karamihan, if well-off naman sa pinas hindi na advisable sumugal sa Canada .

Yes Vancouver po ang walang masyadong snow, just rainy. Pero that province has a very high cost of living. Alberta is cheaper but colder.

Monday to Friday, 8am-3pm pero may mga 1-2hr break. Kakastart ko pa lang ng work so I can't really tell but it is getting harder now since I really need to do time management.

Hi po Atty. I am lawyer in Pinas and planning to go to Canada. ask lang po ako. Is it worth it? And confused po ako kun anong program yung kukunin na hindi consider as downgrade. Sana po mapansin mo po ako please. thank you. ♥️

Hello! It is too early to tell but when we planned po, we see in the future that it will be all worth it. 🙂 I applied first under Business Admin program then shifted on the first day sa Legal Assistant. You can check my first video - 20 hrs lifted for international students. Goodluck!

Hello po! It is quite different po. Dito, they allow foreigners to take an exam para maging lawyer po dito. Sa Ph po, bawal talaga ang foreigners maging lawyer, may exam man or wala.

Hello po. Paano po yung MCLE units required niyo po? Nag.avail ba kayo ng exemption or nagcontinue through online? Tuloy2 pa rin po pagbabayad niyo ng IBP dues? Hehe Lawyer din po ako na nagbabalak na mag.abroad soon and not work as a lawyer there. (Fan acct lang po ito gamit ko. Haha) God bless po sa journey niyo! 💕

Around 450 a month po.

Yes, very expensive po. International students pay 3x the price of TF vs. Domestic students
