FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THAILAND 🇹🇭 (Bangkok is NOT what I expected)
I couldn't be more excited to share the first installment of my Thailand travel vlog series! After arriving in Bangkok, I got to spend 4 days exploring and capturing my first impressions of the country to share with you. From doing my digital nomad thing in cafés and co-working spaces, to exploring The Grand Palace and Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, to eating some of the best pad Thai I've ever had, this Thailand backpacking trip is off to an incredible start.

True most of the Major Travel channels have all started in Bangkok! It remains as the best city for first time travelers! Probably has the most variety of public transportation in all of ASEAN!

@@lebbeusI wouldn’t pick one over the other. Both countries are so diff in terms of cultures, food, attractions, etc. been to both, love them both.
I stayed 3 weeks 2 months ago and tried to do as much Big cities I could but honestly I miss it so much, people were so nice out here, the warmth of the weather and food was so good honestly I’d definitely go back again

I missed Thailand so much, been there so many time but never get tired of it. I would recommend it to anyone considering backpacking or travelling with family or a getaway from a heartbreak(from my experience lol) the country is so interesting and never sleeps. So you’re too busy exploring than thinking about all the stress in the world!

Bangkok has a unique vibe like no other. Smiles, smells of food, traffic chaos, lights, and it never sleeps, and if you want to get away from it all, just head to one of Bangkok's parks and you'll find yourself in another world of greenery and tranquility. (I recommend Benjakitti Park)

At the floating market, if you use the villagers' wooden boats they will lead you through the small alleys. Such as the area where lotus and orchids are planted and also stop by Temple along the canal is very good fun 🥰
Welcome to the Kingdom of Thailand! Yes, Bangkok has a lot more to offer so please enjoy exploring our city. Next time, I would recommend you to do a full day trip out of Bangkok to see other floating markets such as Damnernsaduak, Tha Kha or Amphawa. Those places are awesome! Visit railway market (Talad Rom Hup) as well :)

I think Siam is pronounced See ahm. Spent four months in Thailand. Only four days of that was in Bangkok. Stayed on Rambuttri Road. Only a two minute walk from Khaosan road. Amazing city. Went to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and also temple of the Reclining Buddha, and some markets including amulet markets. Fantastic city. I have to come back and spend some more time there before I die. 🙏🏼 ☸️✈️🛫🛬

Try to pronounce Sa-Yarm? (High pitch as if you were asking a question) and you’ll be alright.

Sai Tai means "Southern line". The place is actually called Sai Tai Mai which is "New Southern Line" (The old Sai Tai is in an area called Pinklao). It is the bus and minibus terminal for routes going to the west and south of Thailand.
Thank you for choosing Bangkok. You took long flight from America to Thailand. Your Vlog is so lively. Also, you study well about going Thai temples. I’m glad that you are happy and you plan to come back Thailand again.

one thing that a Thai myself and others love about Thailand is the environment, it look good overall because of simple architecture that is not great yet so appealing im not sure how to explain but its kinda gives sense of appealing, common, doesn't need to be like US or Europe or Japan where everything gotta be well made for example such as 10:41 or this 11:06 yeah sure its nothing special but it gives sort of carefree/informal/friendly vibes, kinda chill

Next trip go to shopping please visit Icon Siam. it's another level of Store. You must take a free boat to be there and this is amazing my preference is the first and last stage. you can go to balcony beside Starbucks's balcony to see river view when night become you can see the water dancing show.

Only 1 thing I want to say to you is your journey is complete because you tried authentic Pad Thai in Thailand. You would be surprised of many kinds of ingredient they put in Pad Thai in different part of the world. Now you could tell everyone what the real Pad Thai it should be...

Always happy here in Thailand!
For floating market farmers and venders used to bring their produce on row boats via canals and gathered to exchange goods and foods but now only the name exists because land transportation is more convenient obviously. The nearest true floating market is Damneon Saduak about 2 hrs. from BKK.

The main floating market is called Amphawa. That is outside of Bangkok about 1.5 hour drive. The market only opens on the weekend starting from Friday in the afternoon.

Just the stretch of Sukumvit road in Bkk will need a few days to explore. Then you can further your exploration on Sukumvit rd to the East coast along the Gulf of Siam, to
If you like to see local life, quiet and near Bangkok then you should visit Bang Nam Phueng Market. Or Bang Krachao, "Bangkok green lungs" and of course there are many delicious restaurants, you will find a special place near the capital, but it feels like being in the rural area.
