Manila, in general, is not a tourist destination. It's for business mainly. Go to the islands, like Boracay or El Nido, or maybe Baguio.

15-20 years ago being a military base,BGC was bare,greens and trees all over,now it looks sooooo much different.

BGC is one of the major business districts in Manila so thats why the city looks fancy with high end stores, hotels and establishments. Lots of good places to eat and its a bit safer than most places in Manila thats why you noticed there's a lot more foreigners there. Try visiting Makati too just near BGC and do a food crawl in Poblacion and Salcedo.

It's interesting to observe that the more "fancy" it is, the more Western it is. I don't recognize much Filipino stores, it's filled with American and European brands and stores. If you go to France you'll mostly find French cafes, bistros, stores, etc. There are very few American and non-French stores, apart from Paris which is a big cosmopolitan city. Maybe in the coming decades Filipinos will develop their own commercial imprint.

FINALLY!!! BGC is one of the most modern place in the Philippines, BGC night is way way better to explore especially on weekend night, but the financial capital of the Philippines is Makati City (MAKATI CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT, Ayala Center (it's so many high rise buildings), Ayala Triangle Garden, Greenbelt Malls, Glorietta Mall, Powerplant Mall in Rockwell Center, and Weekend Markets (Salcedo and Legaspi Markets) that's all in Makati City

So huge, so many modern cities to travel, very lively & dynamic, you can't bored, amazing city!

BGC is NOT a city of the Philippines even if it named as such. Its only a small 2.5km2 business lifestyle district, and is one barangay out of 28 barangays in the City of Taguig. And there are so many poverty slums and squalor surrounding all the 16 cities of Metro Manila, what world class cities.

A'tin as what you guys know is the official fandom name of SB19 but it also means "OURS" in the local dialect. So when you saw "Atin ang mundo" It meant "The world is ours". No need to take it literally in this context. There seems to be a lot of misconception about “dialect” and “language” in the Philippines. People see dialect as having lesser importance, and language with more importance, almost like a heirarchy. Some people from Cebu, especially, dont seem to like their language being called a dialect. All the languages of the Philippines are dialects of each other, really. They’re all related to each other to some degree, similar root words, similar grammar, tone, pronunciation etc. They all come from the Malay linguistic group at its core. Filipino/Tagalog is the official language, so the other languages are called dialects. But that doesn’t mean Tagalog is superior and the mother tongue from which the other dialects derived. And it doesnt mean the other languages/dialects are any less important. It just means the “dialects”, in this case, are not the national language, but they are still languages just the same. And at the same time, there are dialects that truly are dialects of the other languages within each region, and province, depending on the sub group or ethnic tribe in the more remote areas.
