Track and street miles are very different. On the track you use all of the bike's rpm and power almost everytime, while on the road the rpms are lower. So, it doesn't necessarily need to be 3000 miles since you're using it mostly on the streets cruising most of the tine, BMW said that they recommend you to replace the engine for every 3000 miles assuming in the track since it's a track bike, and Joseph Machler from BMW said that you can go past the recommended miles even if it explodes, since replacing the engine is inevitable.

Exactly. Street miles are much easier on the engine than track or racing. I bought my 1098R with 10,000 miles (original engine, only a handful of track sessions). At 12,000 plus it runs like new and I have no doubt if street miles it would go 40,000 easily. I ride it as hard as I want to but you have to keep a safety margin on the road.

This is correct, same for the Ducati V4R, you could use the regular V4 service interval if you are just street riding.

Honestly, even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't want to track a bike that needs a new motor every 3k miles, too much downtime having to replace a whole engine. I would be running R1, and ZR10R on the track, those are good 1000cc bikes that will go 30k miles or more even racing, much more if you don't race them.

the full engine replacement is certainly intended for use on the track at full throttle, if you also use it on the road or on the track you don't always run at full throttle the maintenance times are considerably longer

It’s not a whole new engine. It’s what most race teams do throughout a race season. New pistons and rings, valves, springs, etc. same as the Honda cbr1000rr-r, for race use recommended maintenance is engine tear down and refresh evey 3,000 miles.

Sick HP4 Race. Honestly its not that bad if you think about it engine replacement wise since he's not dailying this bike. Hes likely to take it to meets and yes ride it around with some guys but that's pretty much it. Just like the H2R. he's not gonna be maxing out RPMS like he would at a race track non stop. Plus he has other bikes he rides. As long as he doesn't abuse tf out of it all the time the engine could probably last for a minute.

I remember when this bike came out, bmw did as a test lab for their new actual engines, the replacement was so they could study back the engine and the wear to improve, also they wanted to be sent with the oil inside so they could analize you were not supposed to do an oil change, and had to pay for the engine, I think at the time they would cover the send costs, I loved this bike but no way I'd use that for so little distance and send back, which is not necessary

so, i saw this bike for sale for like 42k. it was a 2018 hp4 race. you said yours was 80k. just curious if yours is a different one. but I know my bike and i don't think it was

what if you swap this engine to the new engine M1000RR around 15k usd with Mani from Motomillion and maintain it like normal bike? And keep this original engine in box.

You can easily exceed that 3000 miles if just street riding. If tracking yes, but consider that when you track a regular superbike, the engine oil is only good for one whole day of track riding, meanwhile on the street that oil goes for the whole year or more. The Ducati V4R is the same and if just street riding you could use the regular V4 service interval.

As a race engineer, i can tell you that your engine will be perefectly fine and also the startup procedure is only for the track if you go out and redline it after 10 seconds. for the street it is fine and also i reccomend street tires, as it will be hard and pretty bad to ride on cold slics (or you use tire warmers, but the tire will cool down so much in traffic it makes no sense anyway).

Also, there’s no way the engine needs to be replaced at 3k. The V4R has similar recommendations based on use case. If every mile is ridden at the limit at the track, yes I’m sure some major service is needed, if you’re riding on the street, I guarantee you do NOT need to replace the full engine anywhere near 3k

That warmup sequence is probably just if your going to race, and the engine change is probably too because of the racing and pushing the engine to its limits, so if your gonna just ride i dont think your gonna need to warm it up like that and change the engine, but just because it only has 1k miles left, you should do an engine change
