    Damn, Chris got a powerful hit! Though curious how much he rotates outwards on his hits, even on the serve. Not as much as we've seen (and you mentioned) on Haykuu, but still curious to know if he didn't have any issues on his shoulders (I've been struggling with shoulder impingement / bursitis for years now, and it really sucks not being able to hit confidently because of the pain...)

  • @matanaworgen

    @matanaworgen

    Hi G.A. I think I am currently experiencing shoulder impingement because I've been playing a lot (maybe too much) of volleyball since January. There has been a couple of weeks where I didn't miss a single opportunity to play volleyball and sometimes played 5 days out of 7 in the week. I trained a lot my spike and I do have a powerful attack, but I've had this pain in my shoulder for quite some time now I tried to stop playing a bit, the pain was going away but coming back when playing. It really isn't insurmountable but I must say it concerns me sometimes. Do you have an article about shoulder impingement ? I'm thinking of going to a physiotherapist, is it the right person to go to ? Thanks :)

  • @g.a.8661

    @g.a.8661

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@matanaworgen Hi Traziiex. Likely the Physio is the best person to go, but I guess it can depend a bit on the countries, how the healthcare is structured. For me the physio had some nice massages to stimulate the shoulder healing, but in the end what both physio and doctor said is that I need to build up more muscle in my bicep and tricep. Because having more muscle around the shoulder helps support. However if you are having pain, then personally I think playing 5 times a week may not be in the best interest of your health. These things sometimes just require rest. I do not have nay article, but I do recommend you to go to physio (or orthopedist doctor) and they will be much more qualified to comment on your specific situation.

    I have watched haikyuu a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed it. A month or 2 later, I kinda felt like I wanted to play volleyball. I tried playing with a tiny ball that I had at home for a couple of weeks, just as something that would make the time pass by. But my passion for the sport has exploded over the top week after week, yet I haven't ever played the sport, EVER

    I've just started volleyball recently and I'm not sure sure how hard should the ball be. I got a ball pump with a gauge and pumped my ball to the appropriate pressure but it feels super hard and painful to hit, like that stinging sensation your hand gets when you slap a hard surface :( I wonder if it's supposed to be that hard or my pump gauge isn't accurate. From this video the ball sounded pretty hard on the receives. Edit: Love your videos btw, helped me learn the sport in detail :D

    Especially if you’re new to volleyball, the ball will hurt a lot for the first few months of playing because your skin isn’t used to a hard ball being slapped against it! Also it depends on what type/brand of ball you bought because some balls are created to be lighter so they don’t hurt your arms as much! But they are supposed to be quite hard! I hope that helped a little ☺️
