first FULL MANUAL flight (DJI Avata)
Again, I know this drone is not made to do freestyle but wanted to test out what I was capable of doing with it. As you can see it didn't quite work out the way I wanted. Leave a like if you enjoyed!!

Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your first flight with us. I bought a Mavic mini back in 2019 but recently got bit by the FPV bug, and the Avata was on sale recently so i decided to finally get one. I have logged 20 hours in the flight sim and feel very comfortable in manual mode when flying virtually. I haven't taken the Avata for a spin just yet, but I'm enjoying watching peoples first flights in manual mode in preparation for my own journey. On a side note I feel like the production quality on this video far outweighs your subscriber count. I especially liked the editing where you told the story with the camera of you getting to the spot where you finally did your pre-flight intro. Keep doing what you're doing!

I really appreciate the kind words. Although it may not seem much to others the story telling leading up is one of the most important parts of the video I was trying to portray so I'm glad someone noticed. Let me know how your first flight goes. If not make a video and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it
Nice honest video man. I'm in sim training currently. Have been using the motion controller and done a few flights. Gonna make a similar video about my progression. Will keep a check on yours. All the best.

The motion controller makes it easy and gives you the confidence to hit gaps. Going full acro I tend to still be nervous at times and I try the gaps at a slower rate and work my way up to higher speeds later. You're gonna like it man!
Nice video. I bought an Avata a week ago and I am now training in Liftoff to fly manual mode!

Good luck man. Just take it slow and don't try anything crazy right off the bat. It'll eventually start feeling more natural to you

First manual flight yesterday myself - I’m used to 4s and 6s 5” quads and was definitely surprised with the lack of power of the avata. not necessarily a bad thing because it’s not a freestyle drone. Just took me by surprise after diving with it and trying to power out of it, and running into the ground. Feels very underpowered. Good for smooth cinewhoop shooting though, which is what it’s made for.

Yeah, I agree. A lot of people who get these drones without previous FPV experience don't fully grasp that it's a cinewhoop and not a freestyle drone. I will say I had zero FPV knowledge leading up to buying this drone, but I did my research to understand what I was getting into. Not gonna say I might try and push the drone here and there to try some moves, but again, I understand that's not the main point of this drone. Maybe eventually I'll get into a freestyle drone, but for now, I just want to get the basics down with this. But yes, even as a beginner pilot, I can tell just from videos I've watched and from actually flying this drone that it is underpowered when trying to get lift after flips or turns. What I've been having to do to even try anything like that is get on the throttle before the maneuver is even done. I know that if I were to try and do a flip through a gap, I wouldn't be able to get on the throttle early because that could make me hit something so that's where I learn from that and apply it to future flights.

Woo, I got the same situation with you. I brought avata as my first drone, and I got little experience on normal cinematic drone. My purpose is just to enjoy the flight and take some lovely videos for myself. And I do know this one is not for freestyle and racing. but the safety function is good for me as the beginner. I will try my first real flight after 2 days~~ And, enjoy your flight@@AndreVlogz
Sweet video. Wanting a Avata so bad

It's really fun and just another hobby to do even if you're not creating videos about it. Haven't had a chance to fly it recently due to the weather but looking to get back out there soon as it warms up
Nice job man! I haven't got brave enough for manual mode yet. Looking forward to more videos on your progression.

The FPV Freeride simulator really helped with me learning the basics of movement. You should give it a shot they have a free version to try it out. Still definitely need a lot of work/learning but I know the more I fly the better I'll get. This was probably just a total of 3-6hrs in that simulator. Also I checked out your channel as well and subscribed. Hope to see future avata content from you as well. I'll keep progression videos coming!
I trained on lift off seemed alot easier than the others but how do you cut the motors slash start
Advice : When you fly and you speak at the same time, you will not 100% focus. That's why for a beginner, it is better to speak after the fly. You can add what you want to say, when you édit your vidéo. And make lot of pratice on simulator From france 🇨🇵

Haha yeah I'm expecting it to happen. The weather has been terrible since this day so haven't been able to practice. Today it finally seems ok to fly so I'll get out there again and try some stuff! Any tips you've learned so far? And also what camera angle do you run with?
After turtle mode, did it update homepoint or was homepoint still your location?
Have you ever been tackled on that "soft turf" LMAO its not so soft GREAT FLIGHT, cannot wait to try and fly it Manually.
@AndreVlogz
Жыл бұрын
Haha true. Definitely not that soft but softer than concrete. Manual is a lot of fun and gets the blood flowin when you're flying through gaps and stuff
i subbed bro I'm still scared but you helped a lot
@AndreVlogz
Жыл бұрын
Just use a simulator to get the basics of the controls down and go out somewhere that has some grass so if you do fall out of the sky it's at least on something a little more soft. There isn't a simulator that will feel 100% perfect to real life, but at least you can get your coordination down on the sticks so you feel more comfortable when trying it your first time. I will say I still get nervous at times trying to fly through gaps but I just take it slow the 1st couple of tries until I feel like I got the hang of it. Hope all goes well on your first flight man!
FYI you can bind turtle mode to the controller (like double tap C1)
@AndreVlogz
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I got it bound shortly after this to make it easier instead of having to go through the menu every time
I don't have an avata. Just the FPV just took it on its first manual ride today. Holy learning curve coming from Mavic's. I crashed my drone 5 times in the first battery. Had more close calls than that.
@AndreVlogz
Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah it's definitely something you have to have some 'seat time' to get used to. Did you practice in the simulator at all?
I found out that the control stick error is because of calibration? I watched another video that mentioned they fixed it through calibrating the controller.

How do you get the flight audio to record
@AndreVlogz
14 күн бұрын
There isn't a mic on the drone so there's no way to record audio from it. The sound is just getting picked up from my mic
About how my first flight went lol. My nd filter popped off luckily I found it later

Oh man, you got lucky there. The ND filters are so small it would be annoying trying to find it
Needs bigger motors and more amps.

Yeah that would definitely help but again I know this drone isn't made for freestyle so I need to make sure I'm using it for what's intended. But definitely wouldn't hurt having a little more power 🤏🏼
