@@kruksog Guitar player here but the reason I started listening to them more is because of the awesome fretless bass. You're always able to hear it and it's never just simple background bass lines, it's always something really technical that the song wouldn't sound the same without, its just so good

Kings of Technical Death Metal. These guys are the very best of the genre
Epic song.And there's still people thinking classical music and extreme metal are opposites.This song gives you the beautiful harmonies commum to classical music in an aggressive way using extreme metal techniques such as blast beats,combining the useful with the pleasant.
@MScotty90

Stuff like this is kinda like classical played super fast with distortion and screams.
@heikkiaho6605
5 жыл бұрын
Well this song certainly has a lot of classical elements, but what people mean by saying they're opposites, is that music in general usually comprises of rhythm and melody. Classical can mean a lot of things, but what it usually means is music that is "pure" melody which flows an fluctuates, whereas rock/metal music is often rhytmically more stable because of the drumbeats (and some forms of rock/metal don't have melodies, just riffing). Maybe it would be more accurate to say that classical and tribal drum music are opposites and this is somewhere in between. :P

Something about this band is just so perfect. There are a number of other heavily classically influenced tech death bands, but man, all the elements come together so well here, moreso than the others, in my opinion. The composition, the technicality, even the production is absolutely top notch. This music is pure brilliance.
@RustyGonzo

I know your comment is 2yrs old now, but Equipose and Vitrified Entity also do neo-classical really, really well imo. If you haven't heard em already!

This may be the best tech-death song I've ever heard...
THANK YOU cameraman for not being braindead and actually filming the guitarists when they are playing the solos. If I had a dollar for every music video or live performance where the cameraguy or whatever turns to some random shit at the moment the guitarist busts out a killer solo

Moreso Bach. But... it would be hard for him. He wouldn't like the dissonance and aggressiveness but he would understand the songwriting ability and the melodies going on. I think a more romantic era composer or later (as in closer to our age) would like it a lot more. Dissonance and stuff was pretty nonexistent in Baroque music. It wasn't until late 19th century/20th century that composers really branched out into darker territory. I mean just listen to the vocals and drums. Any Baroque or Classical era composer would be like "WTF is this shit, it sounds terrible"

This is probably the most clean (recording-wise) tech death i've came across, it's absolutely beautiful. Like, how many bands can you hear 2 guitars and 1 bassist each one doing different arpeggios WHILE THE DRUMER FUCKING GRAVITY BLASTS and it's crystal clear? Seriously, if those guys manage to get that level of prodution to their next album, we're talking about beating Epitaph and becoming the absolute masterpiece of tech death
@atterion3923

Imo nothing will beat Epitaph cause that album has a huge legacy and inspired so many of today's tech death bands.

Crazy black dahlia murder vibes with this one.... Not taking away from the insane musicianship and creativity of First Fragment (just watch these guys play), rather seems like BDM perfected the modern Death metal song structure. No unnecessary half-time strumming, no overarching solos just because, just the sheer, uncompromising power of the crazy leads and everything has to fit into....
Énorme !
