First Few Days & Campus Tour at XJTLU | Study Abroad China

I recently moved to Suzhou China to #studyabroad and study Chinese. When doing research on #XJTLU before coming here I realised there is not much information available, therefore, I decided to document my journey. In this vlog I show you a little bit of the tour we received of the beautiful campus that XJTLU has.

Hi, Katy! Why would you transfer from NY to China, which is a far different environment? Are you at the undergraduate level?

Hey, Izzy! How do you think about Business courses at the undergraduate level at XJTLU though you are not an undergrad? Would you share your opinions on their Bachelor Programme as I'm an international student thinking about joining XJTLU as an undergrad? How diverse is the uni and its international outlook? As it is a private uni, there's not much info out there. Thanks! :D

Hello Christy! Their business courses in the bachelor program are good. The teachers are mostly Chinese however, their English is sufficient to teach International students. I would recommend XJTLU to anyone, as I loved the University. Currently there aren't many international students but they aspire to grow. Their biggest problem is the fact that International students have doubts coming to China because of the culture shock and the language barrier. These are deff two things you need to consider, because it's not for everyone! I hope this helps you.

Hi Isabelle, new subscriber here! Thank you for taking your time to record the apartment and the campus tour. It really means a lot to me since I am planning to pursue another chinese language course in China. Just wondering, is XJTLU same as XJTU? Is it located in one complex? Because my scholarship only offer to XJTU. How's living in Suzhou so far?

I'm happy to hear my videos have helped you! Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is not the same is Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). XJTLU is a merge between XJTU and Liverpool University. Also, XJTLU is located in Suzhou and XJTU is located in Xi'an.

Hey, I'm planning to study at XJTLU for a year, I'm coming from Liverpool Uni and I was wondering what the most sociable accommodation is, we've been given an option for the Parfait International Apartments or wenhua apartments which are brand new apparently. The wenhua apartments are cheaper than parfait. Thank you!

  • @IsabelleMuzerie

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the new wenhua apartments because they're so new! But the Parfait International Apartments are very sociable :) There is a shared living room and kitchen per 4 or 6 rooms and everyone tends to hang out there, socialize, watch television, party etc. Simultaneously, you have your own room and bathroom. I deff recommend this accommodation. Personally I chose for a different accommodation that would allow me to live there with my bf for a few months. I have a video on my channel about the different accommodations: kzread.info/dash/bejne/loqBuLqdYbLKaLg.html Hope this helps! 🤗

@@IsabelleMuzerie Thank you very much for the reply! I'm really torn between the two, I'm not sure how many rooms there are in the Wenhua apartments and as they're cheaper and newer than the parfait apartments I'm just worried more people will live there than the parfait apartments! I'm more worried about the social side than how nice it is! Thank you!

If it makes you feel any better, as long as there is still space available they usually allow you to switch around if you want to once you're there!

Hello Mr Muhammad. Yes, I am only doing the Chinese language course :) The course is only a few months from February - June. This is also how long I will be staying at XJTLU. The course you will be taking sound like the summer holiday course. I've heard many great things about that course! Apparently it's very fun and interactive. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks for subscribing :)
