People that have unreliable Subarus just don’t know proper maintenance, I’ve got 1 WRX pushing 240k, and one at 140k nothing more than maintenance. Idiots just up the boost, bolt on’s, and slap on Cobb tunes, that’s what’s unreliable. Same goes for people that claim Rotary cars are garbage, had a buddy push 200k on an FC. Just redline a day, and full maintenance.

I had a Subaru with bolt on mods, and a good tune by Pulse Racing, made around 260 KW, I kept it for around 5 years and gave it a very hard time, never missed a beat, But then you see all these comments and I wonder, did I just get lucky

Outstanding mate ! I always enjoy seeing and hearing those rotary motors in a chassis not made by Mazda . The 20b has a very distinct sound to it, very peppy, it revs to redline without a care in the world when properly modified and well maintained . I love how they sound when idling especially the 2 rotor motors .

I would have shortened the drive shaft and shifted the whole lot further back down the drive tunnel then put on a linkage to relocate the shifter 👍

This must be the best street car ever. Crazy engine and amazing driveabilty

I run a 9180 on my 3 rotor fd and its insane at 20-22 psi. you won't regret it. I'd like to try the 9280 but I love the spool of the 68mm. I'm run water to water Ic and water meth injection.

I hope so, I saw alot of 13B set ups with the 9180 and they were very nice, so I thought a 3 Rotor would give me similar power but much quicker spool, can't wait to get it fully tuned and stretch its legs,

I wanted to see more driving and performance. :-(

Maybe, if he sourced it through Team Orange it probably doesn't have much life left. Judging by how clean the engine bay looked someone said "just make this happen". He didn't even wanna use his rag to dust off the surge tank. The radiator looks like its going to make changing his differential oil a pain but I don't think the owner would do that anyway.. He's more interested in having two intercoolers even though hes running e85

This is an interesting setup. I'm very curious if the car actually stays cool though. The radiator is not in the most optimal spot being at the back and underneath plus it's next to the hot exhaust.

Coolant temperature on the dyno was under 90 degrees during the inital tune , so very good on temps so far Let's hope it holds up to the final tune

Is there a kit?

I can understand it would have been a nightmare to relocate transfer case and gbox mounts to move the engine back but if you went to that extent wouldnt you just do it 🤔 Theres so much room there let alone the weight balance factor. Or am i missing something?

Subaru Transmissions are one unit.. the axle stubs sit just behind the bell housing, if relocate the trans further back, you’d wouldn’t be able to run it AWD, because the axles would be angled, let alone being able to mount them anyway. The trans was only designed to work with the compact Boxer motor to keep the engine on top of the center point between the front wheels.

I had the same concerns at first, but the 20b on paper is 25kg lighter than the EJ, plus the massive radiator and battery are in the back, plus the large fuel cell, I think weight distribution should be ok, Moving the engine backwards is possible, but the CV shafts are already on a fair angle and I didn't want to risk it, Subaru drivelines are iffy at the best of times

IDK what he's meaning. Honestly it's a clean build, but strange to me to see the entire engine forward the front axle. Possibly the greatest aspect of the entire engine is how compact and low it can sit. Honestly feel like the boxer had a lower center of gravity than now, just from the looks. It's definitely going to move, but it's handling would be interesting to see in a comparison.

Not sure if you are trolling me or Rob dahm, But My build is very simple compared to rob dahms build, we had a few things to squeeze in a tight space, he on the other hand is basically building a new car from scratch, everything he is doing is brand new and never been tried before Conservatively, I would say his build is 10 times the work mine was
