no more gold feels so bad. the special variants from spotlights does not make up for no more gold.

New system is so fcking lame I hate not being able to choose, every week I have only 1 card to unlock (don't bet on the random card it's gonna suck 99% of the time) and I'm pretty sure I'll need at least 2/3 caches per weeks which can't be done, great job making the progression system a variant rush all year round, it sucks

Just save 4 caches, with old system you could get arround 6k tokens per month, now you 4 Spotlight caches per month and the idea of it is to use them on newly released cards, best example on week 4 you will not only get New card Mirage but also Master Mold and Thanos + random series 4/5 card on top of that, basicly 4 new cards per month vs 1 new card per month

@@adsfire1063 But you had control over which card you got, and if you're a free to play player, you could save up tokens to grab the previous months season pass card when it hit the shop. Now all of that is out the window, and you have to hope they put something decent in the 4 card selection each week. The new system is targeted directly at the whales that are already collection complete (or nearly so).

@@adsfire1063 it's impossible to unlock 4 caches each week being f2p, you could make it work with your savings but i'm almost certain you wont be able to do this for more than a month if you dont whale

You still have control, its up to you when you use these Spotlight caches, you can literally use them on day with 3 new cards that you don't have obviously its not as big control as it was with tokens but it still exist 2. This system is very good for newly released cards for example you can get Jean Grey and Knull + Living Tribunal + Random series 4/5 card in just one month compared to tokens where you get 6k per month so you would get only Jean Grey 3. What they will put doesn't really matter, its always gonna be 1 newly released card (except week 1) in this month its Jean Grey, Legion and Mirage next one is Silver Samurai, X-23 and Lady Deathstrike 4. I agree with you that its bad for season pass cards, I assume that they will release season pass cards on first week from next season starting with Zabu first, and you can still get them from random series 4/5 card but its gonna be hard so yh, but than again on the other side this gives higher value to season passes which are the best method for second dinner to earn money and by seeing that they don't even have testers Im okay with that if money will be used to make this game less buggy and better overall

Thank you Molt for showing the spotlight caches! I like the idea of dusting your variants you don't like (you know pixels).

If they make the Dusting option then you might reopen the same pixel variant again in a reserve since you technically don’t own that then 💀

1:39 - you say "tokens aren't as valuable" - this is not true. Tokens are a lot more RARE now and harder to get! Tokens let you get card you want and not some random one. I would say tokens are a lot MORE valuable now.

Yeah. Tokens are MORE valuable now. Especially since you can dump ~$90 per week to get 2k credits from the variant shop each week. This patch essentially just lets whales whale even harder

I had the exact opposite luck. All I wanted was the Jean Grey spotlight variant, and so far I've gotten the Knull spotlight variant (already had Kim Jacinto so didn't care), living tribunal (didn't care), and then the dan hipp Tribunal variant. I hate this system already lol

@@xenikos99 getting 50/100 on new patch vs. 100/200/600 from old patch which is a massive difference Second Dinner showed it themselves in spotlight cache poster, that old system can net you ~5000 token + ~800 golds + ~4000 credits Vs. ~800 token + ~4000 credits on a new system With same cache opened Mathematically you could get more cards from the new system, but have very low agency on what card you can get. (If next month set doesn't have Jeff, means you cannot snipe for Jeff on spotlight + 800 token every 4 spotlight is merely 13%ish to purchase S5 cards)

Hey Molt I'm glad you're easily hitting infinite lately! I remember when I first started watching you, you were annoyed of the meta and being stuck in 9x. I know your life is a lot busier now, so seeing you stressed free from this game is pretty nice

I like the Pixel variants. But I love the idea of dusting variants I don't use.

You can click on the "Golden Cards" on the top bar to show you what they are offering/what they mean like the first time if you click on the right cards beside the cards/variants it tells you it's a series 4 or 5 card that you don't own

This is easily the worst system they have ever made. I've been around since Beta. As many faults as the token shop had, it was still nice to be able to pick what we wanted. Having the tokens reduced to only 50 per chest, no more gold, and being forced to go for the caches. I saved up enough to open 2, and i got a knull variant who i already owned, and a random card which gave me a variant I already owned. This system needs to prevent you from getting variants of cards you own, or prevent you from getting dupes at all and guarantee a series 4-5 you don't have. They have made it impossible to get new cards if you are unlucky, I don't know how you can say it's easier. It's easier for whales. I buy the bundles, but I will not spend a dime until they fix it. This is the first time I have thought to even stop playing all together, which is insane because i've always defended their mistakes in the past because they were fixing it. Make one system, and make it better. They need to stop trying to fix the problem by making a new system and having to repair that one too.

Yeah this feels why worst then what was there before..at least I know I couldn't get what I already had..just so stupid

So no gold and almost no tokens, to get a tiny chance at 1 cool card. This is 100% a money move by the designers, trying to get people to spend more money to buy gold. Since I'm basically a card collector and only really play to get cool cards with my gold, I'm not seeing much reason to continue playing.

@@rankyb8088 That's all fine, until you think about the fact that at least 70% of your player base is FTP players. And if you alienate that much of your player base, your window of making money begins to close quickly, versus making smaller amounts over a longer period of time.

Lol, the last cashe I opened before the update was a spotlight cashe.

So apparently the random card in the spotlight CAN actually be a card you own. I pulled ghost spider as season pass holder and instead got a 700 gold Rescue Variant😭 luckily I managed to pull what I really wanted beforehand but still that's kinda lame that you can pull a card you already own

If you pull a dupe you should get the amount of gold its worth in the shop its only fair… either that or get rid of the possibility of dupes

My first spotlight cache was a snowguard from the random slot. It felt so bad.

Thanks for showing this. I believe that this will be a fun new way to help people get the higher tier cards. Also spend out tokens without feeling too upset about it. Just bought High Evo with tokens and then got Living Tribunal in my first cache. Seems like a good day in Snap to me. Although I don't know if I will play much Tribunal

DONT UPDATE YET!!You can max you’re rewards by only leaving the 10th one available and get cards from the new system , while maxing tokens/gold/credits from opening the other 9 before updating

I only had 1 Spotlight Cache and become High Evo that i already had and convert it in a Galactus Varriant. I am really sad!

I had 12 boxes and all of them had been crap...3 pixels and a bunch of crap,the spotlight card was a hazmat variant (I didn't have any of the spotlight cards so why I got that is beyond me)...I hate this already.

I had only 2 spotlight caches hoarded and I am really glad I got jean grey in 1st one so I saved the 2nd one for the next week because I would really like Echo and Kang. Then legion and maybe mirage (or I will skip her) I will buy, so there will be another 3 weeks (2 cards for tokens in July and 1 week when season opens in August) to grind caches for the first August release which is nice

The value for tokens is just as much. The credits value has increased, and they decreased the amount u can earn for both. So they found a way to confuse ppl into thinking token value has decreased 😂 escpecially whales who think its easy to get to 40 crates before the spotlight cards change, now these whales spread misinformationd.

If you saved up for this update you can take bit advantage of this system. Very generous actually, I can easily target farm the cards I want.

no offence i am so glad marvel snap have segregated the competitive players/ whales or whatever you want to call em without ostracising those who are more conservative with their money in the gaming sense with how they have initiated the pinning token system.
