    Combine this filter system with Speed of Air pistons and it's like you don't even have an EGR on. Then you'll probably never need to change the filter either.

    Hey Fass I’m definitely excited about this project. I’m a Cummins owner and I know your still in the R&D process for the engine. My question is for the banks intake horn users, are you guys considering this in the R&D of your filters? Will the fitment change because of the intake horn design? Thanks you guys for the hard work and the continued success and support of the diesel engine.

    I find it interesting that they never comment on voiding warranty. I asked FASS directly and they said it doesn't void warranty but you would think that this would be one of the first questions people have and nobody brings it up.

    Do you (Fass) think you'll venture into previous generations of engines? (say 2000+)

    Is this EGR kit EPA and/or CARB certified? Does this kit replace the factory EGR cooler?

    Sounds like this does not take the place of anything in the EGR system. From their description, it goes in line with the system. I assume it goes between the exhaust and the cooler in order to protect and extend the life of the cooler. Since they're not messing with the emissions equipment, I doubt it needs any certification.

    So how long before the egr filter gets clogged?? Condensation and soot mixed with heat makes soot rock hard. Sounds like you have to pay for cleaning and or replacement

    On their website, they claim it's self cleaning

    Hmmm, well time will tell… it’s seems to be the same as a dpf basically same concept but a dpf still has trouble cleaning itself with a system in place that was engineered to clean. This does not have a system in place to clean itself, or ability to reach 1200+ degrees for a sustained time frame. Curious as how they manage the self cleaning.

    Really the big manufacturers can solve this with clean egr by pulling exhaust after dpf like some have done already, seems as if it’s done on purpose to damage engines pre maturely, than blame it on emissions restrictions…. Saying well the government makes us do it sorry… but look we have this pretty new truck for sale how about it HAS 10 screens and a back massager in the seat.. plus a fridge and a generator on board Only 100k and 15 percent APR. lol

    I love having an EGR. No problems with soot. Must have a catch can. Must use Pittsburgh power, max mileage fuel catalyst

    You love having an egr???

    @@whitetail229 yes it cools the intake charge so you don’t also get additional nitric oxide. I hate the smell, but I also hate tumors in the lung or respiratory problems. Because I know what I’m doing in maintaining things without having clogging of EGR it’s easy for me to keep it for those reasons. If people were willing to do what it takes, which is so simple, they wouldn’t have a problem with the EGR system.

    @@Good-luck-Jonathan how do you maintain the EGR?. Do you have an aftermarket filter solution such as a Fass or adding additives in oil or fuel?

  • @Good-luck-Jonathan

    @Good-luck-Jonathan

    Ай бұрын

    @@whitetail229 One of the most imprtant things is getting a good catch can kit or have to make one using a good catch can. The oil is the primary clogger of the intake system. It gums up everything and makes it sticky. Look for the best oils with low Noack so less oil evaporations. Redline Oil/Amsoil/HPL are some of the best. Look at the data sheet to compare oils. If you live in on the west coat you also have access to Renewable #2 Diesel. Very high Cetane and makes much less soot then dino #2. You MUST uses a good fuel catalyst. Redline makes one and started in 1985 but reformed it a bit. Some use Archoil. The BEST one with a 100% proven record with big rigs in Pittsburg Power Max mile. This is the best stuff and will clean it all over time including the DPF. You make less soot with it. You should still use fuel lube for the high pressure fuel pump like Hotshots EDT which works with the whole fuel system or just a lube like LX4. Even Pittsburg makes one called flash which I will try ones my Redline runs out. Lastly which is another awesome upgrade is Snows Performance Water/Methanol injection. It not only cools down the engine and makes a lot more power. It also makes the whole engine SPOTLESS. Like it has never been used. You can also just use distilled water as well which is cheaper. You just make less power from it but still get a little boost. Also MPG will go up with it as well a little. About the FASS, they don't make one for my EcoDiesel but if they did it would be an option but these other options are even better in my option. Also Pittsburg power pays for it's self! Less emotion issues and other issues. Dependthing on your overall health of your system you should also see MPG gains. Run it 5 tanks and and calculate your MPG and come back and let me know if you don't mind your result. After prolong uses, you may rarely see a regen or never. One big rig posted he went 80k miles no Regen. Thats with idle time which makes the most soot! Anyhow good luck
