I had a mk1 rs, was mental in its day ! Torque Steer was brutal. Modified to a sensible 285bhp, was my daily driver to work. Got lots of attention. Miss it.

Forget the GTR and Mclaren, I could be quite jealous over this one!

I bought one in 2004, build number 1705 was 290/300bhp owned it for about 4yrs and was a fantastic reliable car, great memories. They share very few body panels to the mk1 focus.

Finally Ricky 💪🏽 I would of offered mine for a feature but it's sat there with a broken gearbox at the moment 😂. The pistons are forged, the conrods aren't but they are beefed up compared to a standard 2.0 zetec. Rest of the specs on the car were spot on 😁 Noticed a hesitation when on partial throttle, usually happens when the recirc valve spring is too stiff 👍🏽

I have the svt here in North America ( highest trim for the mk1) and that thing with the 6 speed is unbelievably fun! Only 170hp, so for me the RS ( we never got ) is what I’ll always want.

So glad you made this happen. Love the color, looks super clean, and the power looks super fun.

I loved these from the first time I seen them. I also remember they were also somewhat affordable at one point. Now there worth more than a new RS for good ones. But I don't see anyone losing money on them.

Love mk1 focus's wish i still had mine the handling was mint it hugs the road

I agree. It hasn’t a bad angle. It’s been a grower. It did look ordinary ish so so in its day. Not ordinary ordinary but nothing mega. It doesn’t any more. It just looks the bomb

Properly sick I Love the old school focus don’t know what tires they are but the tread pattern is banging I had the fiesta of this era sadly not the st just the S had a nice turn of speed it was a nice little car but the RS focus Especially this one Tasty motor 👍😲

One of my all time favourite cars 👍 something special about these motors.

My mk 1 RS focus build number 1429 bought it in 2003 270 bhp blue Finn remapped upgrade exhaust system loved the car

I had a mk1 1.6 and an RS and you’re spot on, the driving position is awful! That being said they’re proper playful motors, bags of lift off over steer! Gear shift was the best I’ve come across too. Will defo be entering as massively regretting selling it.

2:50 - the torque steer of the focus RS is a lot less than you suggest. Because of the "revo-knuckle", the torque steer is reduced big time.

Was one of these at place I got my golf for only 21k which I thought was cheap considering how old ford's rise in price. And Ricky got a stage 2 mk6 R if ya wanna have a rip. You ent had one of them on channel yet. Shout man

I bought the last one back in the day. Number 4501. Chris Harris drove it back when it was built from Germany back to the U.K. Since had many owners and a cat write off iirc 🙁

Brilliant car I had focus 1.8tdci that was quick and brill to drive. I got mark 3 nice car to drive. But I think Mark 1 is better . I love to own rs focus

its the way that the power is delivered mate. My Astra GTC VXR has no torque steer due to its hyperstrut torsion beam setup, LSD, and adaptive dampers and wheels wrapped in PS4S Tyres

This guy totally sounds like he don't know how to shift in the SVT focus is a lot better Atta turbo and it's 10 times what that car would be with my 03 SVT Focus full bolt on was pushing 260 horsepower to the wheels this got a crappy zetec motor with a turbo
