that is absulotly not true, the quran clearly forbids aggression against any human except if they cause aggression to you. refer to surat albaqarah chapter 2 of the Quran. infact god encourages even the freeing of the prisoner of war. god also orders that kindness and justice must be shown from the believers, i.e muslims, to anyone who did not show aggression, or oppression towards them. and in another verse he further explains that justice must be done even when the oppressed gain power over the oppressors and he warns that their excessive harm must not deter us from being just towards them

One I really don’t understand why the Uyghur interviewees always have good English after only some years exile from China but they couldn’t have good Mandarin when they had stayed decades in China.

With the education, language and culture advantage, Han&other minorities took most of good jobs according to data which leads high ratio Uyghur poverty 3. Modern Islamic extremist ideologies and western anti-CCP influences spread. Terrorism makes other ethnic groups stand hostile towards Uyghurs So the Chinese gov solve these problem so...straight forward...: 1. High level security control with big number of police investment 2. Force those 'left behind' and 'brain washed' go to school to clear separatism&terrorism from their mind and teach them working skills for labor market 3. High state driven economic investment to 'upgrade' the infrastructure of the area to move the population from tradition living to modern living 4. Social welfare investment to balance the gap between different ethnic groups I somehow feel it's really controversial but have to admit that it works. And it really feels better than seeing videos of Uyghur kids shouting to kill all other Chinese in ISIS.

Those pushing this narrative are not interested in history. This is a propaganda hit piece, meant to attack China, regardless who which Chinese political party is in charge. Their real interest is in power. As has been done everywhere in the world, the goal is to divide countries (East versus West, North versus South, etc.). China is finally able to stand on its own two feet. This is just propaganda - no historical context, just emotions, ending with an actress "crying". We saw in during Iraq war, a young "Iraqi" woman crying on TV, crying about faked events. What's different now?

There still many many no-go zones. China is not able to tear down everyone of them to turn them into skyscrapers, especially in rural areas. In those no-go zones, the government doesn't know how many people live there, what they do, and how they live, because even police and government officials are afraid of going there casually. If you go there to do for example demographic questionnaires, or if you are a police looking for a hiding criminal there, you might be gone missing and no one will notice. We don't know what's happening in those areas not to mention keeping track of sexual assaults etc, because we don't even know who's there. Raping and honor killing is actually not a common thing to hear, but random or organized stabbing on non-muslim pedestrians used to be common. But the new president Xi Jinping wants to change this. What's why you see the news now.

Yes, dated back 2000 years ago it was not the Chinese territory, but the Han Dynasty conquered that area and the integrity continued for milennia, despite the repetitive unification and separation. And Han Chinese has outnumbered their Uyghur brothers in Xinjiang. Then I shouod ask u a question. Among modern day sovereign states, how many of them were what they were hundreds or thousands of years ago? Should the US return its land to the native indians to build their own country? Should Australia return its land to the aboriginals? Should India be separated because there used to be multiple kingdoms and cultures? Should Spain set Catalonia free because it is a different culture? Should UK be seperated into England, Scotland and Welsh again as they were not the same country? Assimilation cannot be avoided, be it natural process or intentional practices.

China is a huge country and with all huge countries, there is a diversity of minorities and religions. The Islam can fuel independence movements of west China's vast Muslim population. That happened with southeast Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Russian managed to keep only the Chechnya. The taiping rebellion during the Qing dynasty was started by worshiper of a warped version of Christianity. Hundreds of millions died there, so yeah, chinese recent history had taught the government to pay attention to religious extremism. Similar to how chinese cracks down on drug thanks to the British opium trade.

If you carefully check the video, it doesn’t give direct pictures of Urumqi, it only shows historical videos. The police was because there were mass riots in Xinjiang. uyghurs are NOT the natives in the region, they flooded the region in 900AD after the collapse of the Uyghur Khaganate, located in Mongolia, in fact the home land of Uyghurs are the Mobei region of Mongolia, sound familiar? muslims invading an area and after a few generations claims the area as their home, driving out the real natives of Xinjiang. Han Chinese have settled in the area since 105 BC after Han dynasty drove out the Xiongnu confederacy during the Han-Xiongnu war. and Xinjiang were a Buddhist majority region until the invasion of Uyghurs, who slaughtered all the Buddhist and drove out all the Han Chinese.

@Danish Khan uyghur khaganate was located in Mongolia, the homeland of ugyhurs were the Mobei region, the turkic menace came with the expansion of lslam. the Buddhist in Xinjiang were a mix of indo-european and Han Chinese, you people never came into the picture 1000 years after Han Chinese first settled in the region.
