This is great you guys. I live in Ankara and it really is underrated, it is actually one the oldest cities in Anatolia. It dates back to the Phrygians and had an important Roman presence for several centuries. I wish you had gone to the Hacıbayram mosque, a beautiful building in a very interesting coexistance with a Roman Temple dedicated for Augustus. There is also the Arslanhane/Ahi Şerafettin mosque from the Seljuk period, an AMAZING mosque with Huge wooden pillars. It dates back to the 14th century. Good stuff :D

Ankara is underrated, in fact I'd say it's the best city to live at in Turkey if you like city life. I'd go as far as to say one of the best in the world. Anything you need in a city, it will be in Ankara. People just want to see tourist-y stuff everywhere they go but living in that is not always the best for daily life, Ankara is the perfect mix of modern and cultural. In Istanbul you see ancient cultures in Turkey and lots of commercial aspect of it, in Ankara you live like a Turkish citizen : D

Ankara is not boring city .Ankara culture is little different than other cities because Ankara is middle of Anatolia. You can find night life, muesuems , cinemas, Operas, concert's , Cafe's, pubs, basketball, football, hiking and near the mountain for skiing in winter time, extras for fun . The other good think Ankara is university city and organize city. lots of foreigners live in Ankara than you meet easily practice English. Ankara is growing up everyday.

My partner, who is Turkish, had a similar experience when visiting her parents in Istanbul. She left her backpack in the back of an Airport taxi, only realising about an hour later. They called the airport taxi office who tracked down the driver. The driver immediately brought the backpack to their home. He had already had several other fares but the backpack had remained untouched on the car floor behind the driver seat. It contained a very expensive brand new watch, a birthday present for her father. I was amazed they found the driver (without a registration number or anything) and got it back in a city as large as Istanbul with such a large number of taxis. I would be surprised if something like that would happen here in London.

He was a good person. Unfortunately, there are people in our country who can abuse this situation, and mind you we have a large population. Regardless, I think the majority will be generous and kind, especially to tourists. I'm not sure if I can say the same about vendors and taxi drivers, though.

There is a saying in Türkiye „ The best thing to do in Ankara is returning back to Istanbul“. I believe you should also do that because during your stay in Istanbul you explored the back streets of Beyoglu and other crowded areas like the Grand Bazar but you actually missed a huge portion of the real stunning beauty of this unique city.

Just a tip for the flickering lights in Europe and Asia. Switch the camera to PAL settings to shoot at 25fps. All power supplies in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America use 50Hz power which is devisable by 25fps not 30fps giving the lights that flicker look. The US and Canada use power supplies of 60HZ which is devisable by 60fps and 30fps. Great videos keep them up

Istanbulite here, to be more spesific from the historical peninsula, so almost anywhere you go there's access to sea and ankara is just pretty, easy on the eye hundred percent, but no sea? like where are the seagulls? no trowing sesame bagel pieces at them on a ferry that takes you from europe to asia? i personally can't live w/o access to seashore. plus, we can jump back and forth between europe and asia on a daily basis, we better. objection overruled pretty city tho.

Go to Anitkabir to the founder of Turkish Republic who saved the country from imperialists. Women rights accepted before many European countries by his higher vision and leadership.

You make an opening with “Hoshgeldiniz” & “…Turkiye’s Capitol Ankara” yet your videos headline is mentioning “Turkey”. I find really rude and disrespectful when we need to feel like because few out there may not know this so we should call a country by a name they don’t want to be called with, if you are calling Turkiye that means you know the name has been changed. If England suddenly changed its name to “Anglia” for instance you wouldn’t be so rude to call it England again. I don’t understand why it should be so hard for such an integrated world with open resources lying all over Google to not understand why & when the name change happened and how we should pronounce it as??? It’s Turkiye or Turchia not “Turkey” Please make an effort to change the description of this video. Till then especially Turks shouldn’t give any likes or recommend this video. Sorry but be more respectful please.

Neither of us is from England and that change has been communicated within Turkiye, but people outside of this country are not aware of the change. So every single person that might be interested in this country looks for Turkey and won’t find this video 👍🏼 have you every thought about us helping facilitate change and making people aware that this is the case? We’ve even talked about this in a previous video. Stop being so offended.

I am still using the word Turkey in English. It is extremely stupid trying to teach the people in such a rude way. This ignorant arrogance is very disturbing.
