Loving this lunch break topic! I do not want to the movies on the first date. I would much rather go bowling, rock climbing, hiking, to an arcade, to a coffee/tea/boba shop or somewhere we can talk, connect and have fun. First date is all about getting to know one another rather than sitting in front of a screen and not conversing. Don't get me wrong, I LOVEEEE films and can binge watch all day every day, but...not on the first date :) OHHH and FRIES on the first date would be aweeesomeee! Hahahah so romantic xD also, in my opinion, anniversaries are far more important than Valentines Day.

Singles get together for a nice dinner to celebrate the anti-VDay. :)

February 23rd is special to me Phil. it's my birthday.

this whole conversation reminded me of a girl i knew in college. damn. DAMN WONGFU lol always bringing up the past

I also think it's interesting to think about first dates in online dating, just because that's usually the first time you actually meet the person--which, in that case, you'd (typically..?) want to have something low-key so that you can talk and get to know each other. My recent first dates have all consisted of going to a café or some sort of restaurant and just talking for a while 😂 That being said...the best first date I had was actually with someone I had already met, and he had taken me to dinner before doing this interactive thing involving snowballs to earn points and determine the next portion of the date. We just talked the whole time and ate and had a blast. Like you guys mentioned, the most important aspect is having fun and clicking with the person--you could end up doing anything with them and still have fun (: That's an ideal first date for me.

honestly im a big nerd for a first date i'd actually love just geeking out watching anime, playing video games or just chillin' and talking. or if we're at chapters even spending time infront of the manga shelf and seeing what the other hasn't read yet..... yeah...

I feel too that everyday should be special with your significant other. But Valentine's Day gives you an excuse to go on a date or do something special. Not saying that people should only do it on that day or boycot it just cuz everyone else is doing it on that day. Just like Halloween is an excuse to dress up. You can do it on other days and there are parties where people have to dress up in costumes but why not do it when there's a day to do it and its normal to do so.

I had the best first dates doing outdoor activities. One of them included a spontaneous scenic picnic on a tree stump, followed by a bike ride. The other was a hike and then a stroll on the beach.

I've always found the second date is the "real" first date because you're not as nervous and way more open to talking about things comfortably

Had a date with a guy where we just met at a mall cuz we needed a central location to meet and it was a disaster. The guy hated small talk and of course as most typical guys they dont like to shop. We ended up still dating but were only together for 6 months. My first date with my hubby was at a restaurant and I felt it was awkward but I dunno some how it just worked out. And now we are married since last year. This year in a couple months would be 4 years since we started dating.

No way..no one could talk me into seeing a supeebatural movie!!!
