This thing honestly reminds me of one of my pet peeves about the RC hobby. No one likes to give anything new a try. The racers refuse to run anything other than stock buggy on carpet and the bashers refuse to touch anything that isn't ARRMA or Traxxas. And the Aircraft guys tend to stay away from surface stuff. This thing was doomed, not because of what it was but because it was outside of peoples' comfort zones.

I get what it is, a ground effect hovercraft modeled after the Wipeout craft! VERY COOL! Now load 'em up with electronics to simulate weapons attacks and a track with power ups and turbos!

Amazing little concept!, I can see a whole new area of rc racing with a dirt and water track. Looking at its directional stability, me gets to thunkun that a gyro and some clever electronics (Auto Throttle) could take this to a whole new level. Could really take a lot of the "mushyness" out of the handling.

They should take this design as a future transport that everyone can buy. As a electric powered vehicle. It might even have foldable wings if the electric motor can produce enough thrust.

We built a RC Hovercraft for a competition in school, (we came in second, still got me a scholarship) Ours was just as fast but from what I can tell in the video ours had much more control. Ours had the best performance out of all the ones at the competition but we got beat out, because part of it was getting sponsors and the ones that won went on TV to get sponsors and the judges loved that idea :(.

Add a front stabilizer/yaw wing. That should help correct the oversteer.

@ratchettie It has NO brakes... you have to cut the motor so it drags the ground... or pull a 180 and reverse thrust. They are basically like steering a hockey puck on ice. It takes some getting used to!

haha ohhhhh yaaaa!!!!! it looks like that game to.

they are the same but it seems like they have improved some things :) Now there is a plastic piece on ea side on the fan thats supporting the fan unit the original did not have this and the body goes down over the edge which will protect it better. Hobbyking got a lot of good stuff.

At 55 you can see the fan that pushes it off the ground, thats why it appears to hover.

WFTW now just need a nice narrow twisty track to complete the feel from the game
