Firman Dual Fuel 3200W Unboxing Sound DB Test Propane and Gas vs iPower SUA2000 Generator

*See links below for index to tests in the video
In this video I do an unboxing of a Firman 3200W WH3200IE WH02942 (Costco Part Number) Dual Fuel Generator. I purchased this to replace a iPower SUA2000 generator. I had installed a Micro-Air Easy Start for my AC and was able to run it successfully with the iPower generator but had to turn off all my other breakers including my battery charger for it to keep up with the load. I purchased this to be able to run everything in my RV and also run it primarily off my onboard propane tanks.

Or someone who has the time management skills to keep clean. I grew up with guys with extremely filthy garages. Some of the best wrenches and handymen around, but man they could not complete a project without making a huge mess.

I got the model just up from that one (also at Costco) but the WH03242. Initials: Didn’t like having to do so much to get to the oil, (initial filling, and future checking/changing) which isn’t very quick or convenient as compared to other manufacturers. The propane has a solenoid and wire that has to be plugged into the side. I ONLY intend for propane use so that storage without worrying about the gasoline going bad/using stabilizer. I don’t like that you only get a 24-inch hose for the propane, and a longer one is NOT available from Firman. (Called them to ask)The sound levels are as expected/advertised. Loading passed fine, no issues. Going to see about making a longer propane supply hose, but whether it’s okay without the solenoid plug remains a question.

Great video. I just ordered the WH3300. Im wondering why there is a 3200 like yours and a 3300. I know its just a 100 watts. Saved me alot of time unboxing and set up. Did you break it in? I have the Firman 9000 and broke it in. Ran it for about 30 minutes and changed oil. Upon inspecting the oil, i did see metal flakes in it which is to be expected with a new motor. Word is it helps on the wear of the motor, so what the heck, quart of oil is cheap, so I would reccomend it if you havent already done so.Thanks for the very informative vid. @@kinetocore Installed the A/C Micro-Air Easy Start. Fairly simple to install if you are comfortable with schematics and wiring diagrams. I took the Micro-Air install wiring diagram and the wiring diagram printed on my A/C unit (sticker under the cover) then sat down and wrote my own wiring diagram based on the two documents. From there I went and installed the Micro-Air. From start to finish 30-60 minutes. Once I confirmed that the Micro-Air was working, I tested the generator at the house. First I tried propane then gasoline. The A/C unit ran on both with no issue. We took the travel trailer and generator out to the desert this summer with 115F ambient air temp. The generator struggled under propane but worked great on gas. When we left the desert and the ambient air dropped down to 90F, propane worked fine. It should be noted that the generator explicitly states that continuous operation is normal up to 104F ambient and max operating temperature is 122F ambient. We were pushing those limits so I'm not surprised. Prior to purchasing I did "lots of math" trying to match the A/C and generator sizing but, in my experience, sometimes it just takes a "try it and see" approach.
