John Constantine? For me, Just a copy of John Sinclair created fictional character by Helmut Rellergerd. Started to write the series in 1973. Retired from work. Nowbody able to write on in a way, to keep people's interest. He used the name or pseudo "Jason Dark". Another person, or fictional character, same genre "Larry Brent aka X-Ray 3". Paranormal investiation, stories, even harder to follow. I guess in a factor cruelty to fun read. Stories appear to be harder in topic. written by Jürgen Grasmück, pseudo he used, "Dan Shocker" Did not know, how much Stories he wrote, they appeared weekly. 60 to 64 pages. So Hellblazer? Maybe a coincidence a Mandela effect or a copy of charater. Jason Dark wrote also the book after the movie "Ghostbusters" and one related story "Ghostbusters in the wild west" I guess it was a female cast, doing the work. He also created a character, with name Don Harris - Psycho Cop, getting in trouble with Bastei Lübbe, who published the stories, and I know he worte or invented even more characters, Like "Damona King" the white witch. Problem, there are to many coincidences, that I cannot explain, reaching back to a story, written by Bram Stoker, "The Lair of the white Worm." that remind me, of stories, (more than 2000) characters or foe's in the Sinclair Universe. Like Asmodina being the white Snake or Izzy, the white worm. She was created as daughter of Satan. An Günter Merlau, "Started to work on an Audioplay, with name "The Black Sun" oder "Die schwarze Sonne", taking Bram Stoker's story, "The Lair of the White Worm, and actually add it." So question? Who is stealing from whom? And what is copyright anyway? A bunch of shit, or is there are a collective conciousness? I could go further, but this one would kill your understanding of reality completely.

Even though the actual Constantine character from the comic is supposed to be British, blonde hair, more witty and cracking jokes I just feel this version fits the character so much more. Someone who lives in a dark world as an exorcist killing demons would be expected to be a bit more darker and serious. I know I'm also just being bias considering this movie was my first introduction to the character but I just felt this version made a lot more sense.

This came out when I was in my 20s & I was looking forward to it. They pushed its release date from Fall ‘04 to A few days after Valentines Day in ‘05. So a demon movie coming out that holiday time going up against will smiths Romcom Hitch didn’t help. Funny thing is it’s budget was $80 million & this made $230 million! Should’ve made a sequel.

I always enjoy the lighting in this movie. They use very bright lighting contrasted with the evil things they see. Usually we associate light with safety, but not here.

I love this movie but no. There's not a better person than Matt Ryan to portray Constantine.

I watched this scene when I was much younger; back then, I didn't understand why he scared the demon by reading the bible. 10 years later, I watched the original comics, then I realized he was gonna banish the demon to heaven; he was bluffing though, in the comic, he tricked Nergal following him to heaven, then Nergal got ripped into pieces by Angels.

A masterpiece and we all want a sequel.

That's why Balthazar was so scared. Imagine a demon being transported towards Heaven and then smacking his head on the Pearly Gates coz he cannot get through. Since he cannot enter Heaven, Hell is closed off to him and he is banished from Earth, he will be stuck in Limbo with no powers whatsoever.

That's untrue. You have to have apostolic power that binds things in heaven as they do on Earth. Much like the power that Jesus granted unto Peter, the first Pope. In fact, Jesus himself comes from the line of priests, the order of Melchizedek, the apostolic order of the Catholic priesthood. You merely have a Protestant understanding of that, which I am not going to argue with you. But just wanted to let people know what the Apostolic tradition does not make everyone their own "priest". That was the understanding for the first 1,500 years of Christianity before the Protestant reformation and is still a core tenet in the faith of the oldest denominations of Christianity (Catholicism, Orthodox, & Coptic).

As a young lad, im ashamed to say I didn’t know this was a DC film. Even later in life when I learned who John Constantine was from the CW, I didn’t make the connection (partly because I forgot this film but also because Keanu wasn’t blonde, British, or as comical as his CW counterpart). Now that I know this is based on the DC hero, I’ve gained a new respect on this film

The actor playing the good guy is pretty good at action roles. I hope he does some more action movies in the future.

I hope they give Reeves his wish and make another one of these. Take their time and write a great script. And let the man do his work.

I watched every movie this man starred in. And though I love this take on Constantine, I think Matt Ryan as Constantine is better (mostly because it's so close to the comics and he got the mannerisms as well) but Keanu's other roles are just too perfect for me. P.S. This movie needs a sequel.

When you realize the demon get blow away just like John did ( at the part of swimming pool later ) . Gabriel is such a awesome Badass . Love it .

I have watched this so many times that I've probably memorised the entire script. Wanted so much more from this movie

I was doing a channel surf one night, found this film - - WHOA‼️ Such a really great movie!!! I’ve watched it several times since then, enjoy it every time (so glad to NOT see, what only a few like him can‼️).

Captain America. Literally the star of the second highest grossing film of all time states he is a christian in the first avengers movie. The last movie came out 3 years ago. Enough with the self pity party.

Constantine is so underrated. He ought to be given a slice in the Justice League movie!

This is actually his best film. He's most fitting for it.

It's pretty crazy how the movie is nearly 2 decades ever since it's release, the fact that it was also 2 hours long was absolutely worth it yet I couldn't get enough of the fact that it wasn't a series The last time I remember ever watching this the first time was back almost 7 years ago, I once again thought of rewatching the entire show just to appreciate how well the movie was plotted, it was undeniably better than the last time I had watched it

John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will and Bible.

Just Neo in another version of the matrix.

One of the rare great DC movies.

This is the movie that made me like Keanu as an actor. He was already a cool ass cat but this and Point Break sold me.
