    From This Moment very quickly became my favorite Shania song even though she has SO MANY other great ones. There's just something about that one, I can't even put my finger on exactly WHY it is my favorite of hers. She never made a 'bad' song, they are all at the very least 'good' if not 'great'. :)

She supports giving funds to schools for kids whose family can't afford things like field trips because she remembers being there herself. She also is a member of the Temagami first nation tribe and I believe she was brought up on a reservation. Her stepfather is Ojibwe. It's interesting that this hasn't really factored into her public persona. She seems to keep her private life private and is protective of it, which I think is really respectable. Shania stopped recording and touring years ago, effectively retiring from music, and then years later revealed that she had caught Lyme disease and the infection (which can infect and damage the central nervous system, as it did mine) damaged the nerves of her vocal cords, and that's why she stopped making music. She treated the infection and had surgeries to try to correct the damage and issued a new album. Her voice isn't what it once was, but I really respect her for being so forthright about what happened. For some reason, a lot of people are ashamed of losing abilities, even when it's not their fault. Unfortunately, she lost a lot of my respect when she said "I would have voted for [Donald Trump] because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest. Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldn't be able to have both. If I were voting, I just don't want b- - - - - -t. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?" She later apologized and said that that quote isn't 'representative of my values,' which doesn't make any sense. She apologized 'if I offended anyone' but didn't say she changed her mind about supporting the man who would attempt to overthrow the United States government. Very sad capstone on her public career from my perspective.

    Well, a reason for people not liking it is because of what we see now. Country has been eaten away by pop, essentially making today's top country songs pop-country. People who want pure country have to go seek out independent artists for what they want, which is both good and bad. But country music today is pretty split, and that's not always a good thing.

  • @MatthewMorris1997

    @MatthewMorris1997

    Жыл бұрын

    @@BigFry9591 I think Country Pop started because the popularity of traditional Country was waning / entering into a niche market / not gaining in popularity. Country Pop could get people introduced to a more country sound & possibly get them more interested in traditional Country. I enjoy both types of music but Country Pop more, it blends country pop and rock, meets in the middle between the three which I think is a very nice sound. Traditional Country music needs to stay though, good to see a few young artists staying with the old style & keeping it alive.

    Shania Twain was among a list of "new country" that cam along in the early 90s which ushered in a whole new genre that appealed to the younger country music fans along with pop fans. Her videos were super popular for obvious reasons, but she backs up her gorgeous looks with an ability to sing that hooked fans worldwide.

    Yes! Shania is queen! Some other up tempo songs would be "any man of mine", "whose bed have your boots been under", "party for two" (I prefer the duet with billy currington over mark mcgrath), "honey im home", "up" (the song that got me into shania), but if you want to slow it down to some love songs I recommend "you're still the one", "From this moment on", "forever and for always", and "when you kiss me".

Shania Twain her first album I believe was produced by or directed by Bo Derek's husband John Derek. But she was also never given a lot of credit or thanks from the country music because they did consider her more rock and I believe it was Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton that stood up for her just saying anyways I think you guys are such an awesome couple you guys will be together forever, God bless

    I have loved her since the '90s. My favorite song is Any Man of Mine and I remember the controversy of that music video because she wore a shirt that showed her belly button. And at that time, especially for country music, you didn't really do that lol. I also love the The Woman in Me and You're Still the One and many others. She has some very beautiful songs and then more upbeat fun songs.

"Voodoo Thing" is one of my favourite workout songs of all time, and "Just Came Back" has an amazing rock beat. To those I'd also add "Five Long Years" and also "Chicks, Cars, and the Third World War". Also pretty much anything off his jump tunes album, "Colin James and the Little Big Band". Fantastic artist.
