Fire Axe Restoration - How (Not) To Polish An Axe
Ойын-сауық
I wanted to try to do a mirror(ish) polish on this unmarked (pretty sure it is a Harbor Freight Pittsburgh brand) fire axe to give to my brother for his birthday. I finally finished it a few months too late for his birthday but made it in time for Christmas. Along the way, I learned all of the wrong ways to try to get to a mirror finish and burned through a whole lot of sandpaper and crappy grinder discs. But the end result looks pretty good, and I think my brother liked it.

Happy birthday!
That turned out real nice, I think your brother's going to love it.
Nicely done. I love my small fire axe. It makes a perfect truck axe. My secret Krampus just gave me A True Temper Standard 6lb fire head. I cant wait to hang it.
That sucker is flat out pretty buddy!
I just got ahold of an old axe head my dept was getting rid of, I plan on doing this with it but I've never seen a handle like that. Could you elaborate on how you burned it?

I used a propane torch and ran the flame over the handle lightly, just enough to darken it a bit. Just make sure it is all fit up to the head first before burning, and don't get it too hot, or it can crack.
Title says it all 😅
I wonder why my ps5 is so sharp
