During the Winter war, a Soviet general hears a yell from the Finnish side. “One Finn is better than 10 Russians!” The general sends 10 men. All are slaughtered. Another yell: “One Finn is better than 100 Russians!” Another wave of Russians come along. All are killed again. Yet another yell: “One Finn is better than 1,000 Russians!” This time, one Soviet soldier manages to survive and comes back with news: “It’s a trap! There’s two Finns out there!”

I love the combination of easy-does-it nonchalance of the song, like 'em good old boys were like, yo, I gotta rap it to you real quick, this is how it' s gonna go down. You's got to git. Now go on then. Also the lyrics reflect the same attitude in my humble native opinion.

It’s because commies are shit leaders and tacticians, also the ideology and technology was flawwed. It wasn’t that more was being produced, it was less. But what was being produced was super cheap so it ended up as more. Tanks were shit, everything communist except their music is shit

@@AmericanCaesarian it was mostly luck, in winter war they didn't use generals in lead because of stalin's purges and they thought that finland's terrain was like flat like poland, and in 1918 the civil war germans fought with finland against reds and that time russian were weak too because they had an civil war too, continuation russian equipment was old against german Panzer IV's so they MASSIVELY industrialised and got generals they started the mass production of T34's their armor was thick so they did massive victories and so russians defeated finland and germany in operation barbarossa

This is from a site called LyricsTranslate since I didn't want to bother to translate this myself. This song is about the Finnish Civil War in 1918, not the Winter War or the Continuation War as many foreigners may believe. The White Guards in Finland call for order, all Russians out of the country and down with the Red Guards. Hey! Saksanniemi, Jäger unit, troops of Lapua and Härmä, Vöyri, Kauhava and other places... Along with the Jägers comes success and luck, on our belts hang German grenades. Hey! Saksanniemi, Jäger unit, troops of Lapua and Härmä, Vöyri, Kauhava and other places... Little Russians in St. Petersburg see bad dreams, Russia is a borderland and Finland an empire. Hey! Saksanniemi, Jäger unit, troops of Lapua and Härmä, Vöyri, Kauhava and other places... Forward brothers, fear away, and a swift pace, the White Guards of Finland are the guards of freedom. Hey! Saksanniemi, Jäger unit, troops of Lapua and Härmä, Vöyri, Kauhava and other places...

  • @tonttu7979

To add more context, white guards were anti-communist militias that fought with the Jäegers and Germans (and some Swedes and Poles) in the 1918 civil war against the red guards, (who had red arm bands and were communist) who also had soviets on their side. Messy war with lots of casualities including massive executions both during and after the war. The reds lost and the white guards got smaller, but existed till 1944 until Finland made peace with the allies and got out of ww2. The guards had to be shut down because the allies deemed them fascist
