On 22 April which was two days from this incident, same aircraft OH-LWB doing AY99 to Hong Kong also returned back to Helenski

Great spot, that explains why we had a late aircraft change on the AY1337 flight to LHR. We were really looking forward to trying the new A359 business cabin, but were squeezed into an A321 instead.😢

Was it on 22.4? If yes, than it wasn’t caused by this aircraft, but if on 22.4 then it might have been due to this aircraft. They can also change it due to low cargo and pax numbers. And by my research the OH-LWB has old business class seats.

No it was Sat 20th April, A359 LWF was meant to fly the LHR flight, but when LWB went tech, LWF was swapped to cover the evening Delhi flight. We ended up on A321 LZS, which was the only spare aircraft.

Gear doors remain open after gear deployed? Is that the issue?

In worst case the gear can be extended by gravity. In this case the gear pushes the doors open. After gear extension the doors are closed by hydraulic. If the hydraulic system failed, the doors remain open.

@@yodaas7902 I know, I'm being sarcastic. I'm ridiculing the media and their attacks on Boeing lately. A few months ago, an A319 made an emergency landing in Tampa. The reporter on the local news called it a "Boeing Airbus 319".
