Finishing Upholstery in the Van! How does it look?

well.. its all wrapped up! Im pretty happy with it.
this sort of means all the outward visuals are done. Just some little things to finish up and the van is complete.

The van is really coming together! All this time may be a blessing in disguise. It is nice to have everything planned out to a T right from the beginning, but the real refinement comes from living with the thing for a while and getting familiar with it over time.

right... i have been thinking even now... "i should have done it this way"... and i thought so hard about this from the beginning... i wonder what else ill "wish" i had done differently... hopefully nothing too major. I have a feeling i might have wanted a stand up enclosed shower... that will be the biggest... but i am happy as well that i didnt cut into the interior space to make one.

Really impressed Matt, that was quite something cutting and sewing cushioning covers with the help of Annie, something you hadn’t done before. Just a point, I’m a UK Motorhomer have been for over 20 years, and all my Motorhome’s cushions have had labels stating they meet fire safety regulations, maybe I missed it but don’t remember you mentioning whether the foam and fabric materials you used meet fire safety standards, or maybe you just want to live dangerously. Anyway I’ve viewed all your videos to-date in the conversation of this studio campervan, and I say again I’m very impressed with what you’ve achieved. And after 2 years of hard work your brother-in-law Andrew summed it up you’ve the skills of a designer, cabinet maker, plumber, pipe fitter, electrician, auto-electrician, electronics technician, air conditioning technician and last but not least upholsterer, you are a man of many talents Matt. It’s a great studio campervan Matt, you should be well proud of yourself👍🤔

thanks so much... as far as i know, the foam is literally for RV projects, and the fabric is a Marine fabric that should have all the appropriate purposes met

any thoughts or comments? you think they all fit together good? I was considering snaps or connectors to link the cushions together, but they nest so perfectly i dont know if thats necessary.

It'll probably work, but I hear that people run into issues once those cushions have been used for quite a while. Maybe have a plan to swap them out on the regular?

There is now light at the end of the van tunnel, haha. Only two years! Your AZUB Ti-Fly X is more sophisticated than the van, and was completed in a fraction of the time (but it won't keep the rain off you in a thunderstorm). I just referred a viewer of my channel to your Ti-Fly X videos because he is thinking about getting one, so he may ask you some questions in the near future. Oh, and the JaYoe for the trike is a LOT cheaper than the JaYoe for the van, haha! (rice and beans cost less than gasoline). See ya' ... steve

Big congrats Matt. That really turned out amazing. I have a van myself and when you started I was like - are you sure you know what you're getting into but you turned out topnotch. I was kind of worried when you didn't make any videos for some time that maybe you'd given up...but sometimes life just comes in between. Totally understand. Anyway, so happy to see that result. 加油 !

I think Andrew's really speaking for anyone who's been following you on this mission for the last few years. It's clear that it's not been as swift or as successful as hoped at the beginning, but your perseverance has been both rewarded and rewarding as your skill set has just kept expanding. Eva is going to learn a lot from you ( as I'm sure you did from your old man). All the best, dude
