Finishing the Front Suspension Lift with Spacers, Tires, and Brakes (78 Firebird Ep.38)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
After modifying Chevy S10 lift spindles to fit on our Firebird we managed to get it back to sitting on its own suspension, but there was still a lot left unfinished. This time we're tackling a few important things, mostly focused on the front suspension, that we'll need to get this car back on the road. We'll need wheel spacers to keep the wheels and tires away from the spindles, tires to make room in the fenders (and look good), brakes to stop this metal deathtrap, and we'll reinstall the front sway bar with a steering brace just for good measure.
Timeline of filming: March 16th, 2021 - June 22nd, 2022
Song List (Order of First Appearance):
00:01 Without a Sound - Letter Box
09:02 Forgiven Fate - Dan Lebowitz
10:57 Traveller - The 126ers
19:46 Search and Rescue - Dan Lebowitz
24:51 Where Shall We Dine - Letter Box

And a big foot gas pedal
It's always nice to see someone else leaving projects to sit for years at a time. Solidarity amongst us overachievers...
looks like the groove is coming back, best of luck and hopefully the rest of the fleet isnt fighting so hard
Your “Baja Bird”… the exact opposite of my ‘77 Trans Am. Can’t wait to see you kicking up dirt!
FYI the 10.9 stampede in to the stud it metal grade. a 12.9 would be more resistant to stretch but more brittle than a 10.9
I actually feel like the new aluminium ball joint adjusters were the waste when You could have cut your own ones down but it's 100% understandable that You would make that decision. Like You said, It's an upgrade anyway due to the hex shape. I like what You have done with this car. Your Pinto adventure was epic BTW, I wish You could do more like it. Binge watched it about six times now.
new video just dropped. today is a good day.
Babe wake up, fuzzy finally uploaded🎉🎉🎉
My girlfriend had to go into work early, she wanted me to come with since it's a only for a little bit. Seeing this upload made it totally worthwhile getting up early today!
Years later and i still REALLY enjoy your content dude!
For real we NEED MORE! You and Ronnie are 2 of a kind. We LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! THEY JUST COME SO SELDOM! Ugh lol. Awesome work as usual!!!
That’s a funky castor angle on those uprights!
i absolutely love these firebird videos thank you for sharing as long as your making videos ill be watching them
I commented it on the last video, and I'll say it again on this one. I absolutely love the look of it lifted!
I wonder how many times he cuts just before he yells profanities. The self tapping screw breaking way into trying to solve the brake hose bracket would have pissed me off. 😂😂😂
This is such a sweet build. I seriously dig it. Thanks for sharing it with us. Your commentary and editing is top-notch. I always get excited to see a new video from you.
Could you imagine that car with a much larger lift and mud tires on it! Yes!
That looks like it would be an awesome rally-cross car
Thank you for this video. As always - it was worth waiting :)
That's a great surprise to wake up to this morning
As always great video
Him: Surface tension is what actually hold the wheel in place. Also Him: I covered the surfaces in anti-seize.
glad you're finally getting caught up!
Glad to see the build moving along 🙂 Great job 👍
I love the mad max vibes

Another great video. So glad you are back!
HE'S BACK SO SOON!
I love this topic.
Great video 👌
What a nice suprise, thank you!
Man I understand why you had to, but those meaty white letter tires looked perfect on the car.
Im now preety sure that this car will never pass the technical inspection in europe. So good for you.
Amazing WORK ❤️ 👍🏼
Woohoo! Content! Glad to see more from you man!
Absolutely love your content
Yeeeees! Thanks for cheering us up. Perfect timing for the weekend! 👍

Wow this car is going to be a lot of fun!
Yo love the uploads!
good choice on the spacers!!!!!
Thanks for metric conversions!
I’m loving the off-road look keep it up!
Your my favorite KZreadr.
Damn, now I want to lift a firebird
“HONEY, Fuzzy Dice Projects uploaded!”
keep up your vids i love em and drop every thing to watch yours :)
Watching these videos is just horrifying, although it does help me not worry when my car makes a weird sound as mine is babied way more than this poor firebird.
The ball joints are inserted from top to bottom with only 3 bolts M8 holding each of them, few potholes and that ball joint will pop up. When you had control arms you mounted ball joints from the bottom to the top, therefore the weight of the car was on the shoulders of the ball joint.
i like those safety sandals
You know I love you, man? But I just can’t get on board with these mods. It’s killing me a little :) Still, I respect your choices and will of course watch every single minute! Thank you!!
Love it
It just makes my morning so much better when I see a new Fuzzy upload. Love your content!
YES A NEW FUZZY DICE VID ❤
dayum this was fast.
heck yeah
Keep up the good work! I wish I could find a deal like you did on this car 😭
Been waiting for this one. Pinto adventure was great too🥳 what's in store for pinto next🤔
nice
Mike - this upload got many reengaged in this project. please hammer down on’er…we still haven’t heard her BigBlock roar, etc. please update us soon!
Yesssss
Woohoo!
I understand everyones busy and we love your channel dude, been following the 454 big block build in particular, I guess we all want to know with anticipation have you fired the 454 up and how did it go even if its not uploaded ? Like what happened from diverting to other areas ? Everyone wants to know including me as I picked up alot from your videos as a beginner and curious to know. With that thank you for your efforts the quality uploads and sharing it. Cheers
Hey man! If I saw correctly, you used a 215/75/15 for the front and a 265/70/15 for the rear. That means there's a 6.9% difference in rolling diameter between them. Do you think it's a good idea to have them so different?(I have only heard stories, never tested myself it makes that big of an impact though). The closest rear for the front that I could calculate was 245/65/15(which is 0.7% smaller, almost unnoticeable). Anyway, cool build and I love that you build this car they way YOU enjoy it. I always had that issue as well, taking other people's opinions to heart is really difficult to do in a build.
26:05 that is a massive tree
I wanna see this lifted firebird ripping up a bouncy dirt road.
It’s funny, I said to my self that at least you did forget the flare nut🤣. I wonder how many people watched to the end🤔
Pretty wild that a 215/75r15 is a large oversize tire on a Firebird where 235/75r15 is the stock tire size on my Caprice Classic, and they dont even look that big.
*scratching my arm* Y’all got anymore of them firebird videos? 😂😂😂😂😂
BTW those markings on studs mean, that they are made from higher grade steel
20:51 - that spider there is going to get a nice drink..... of brake cleaner.
1:23 These aren't metric markings for size, this is the grade of the bolt 10.9 quite strong
You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome.
It never used to be this expensive to get high. 😃 Its looking diffrent, Im sure yu have lots of negative, but I dont mind the look of it. 2x👍
See you in 3 months 😂
Back of the envelope calculation suggests about 11" ground clearance?
could you imagine bombing down old gravel country roads in this thing!
I'm watching. Not my thing at all, but I'm watching. I assume you'll be taking it out and off-roading it Roadkill style. Jumping train tracks, hitting big water holes at speed, things like that?
I was so so sad when the video ended:(
very curious how this car will perform on a Rally cross event
For the steering stop, can you just mount a bolt through the control arm so the clearance is still there?
oh wow this was pre pinto
OMG IT WASNT A 6 MONTH WAIT THIS TIME!
It's gonna be a higherbird
Hi all, has the engine ever been running after the restoration?
Not a fan of the lift, but I’m enjoyed watching. Miss seeing content from this channel. The way you handle things and overcome things inspires me
My Chevy has 70.3 bore. I tried ford rims with spec’d 70.3 bore and they would not go on. Yes BP was 115mm/4.53” vs 4.5” which is 030 diff? Still no go. Sold wheels
Recommend against locktight on the inner lugs? Seems odd.
