I've been putting off a tricky touch up on an old guitar I've been restoring, and this video has been incredibly helpful and inspiring to me. I'm a big fan of a lot of the products that Mohawk offers, but I wish they'd offer more instructional content on how to use their stuff. This video is just what I've been looking for. Subscribed, thanks man!

Great video, Scott. I have searched and searched for videos on furniture touchups like you've described without success. Recently I took a class at Southwest School of Woodworking focused on repairing finishes and doing touchup work as you've described. Learning how to do color touchups has really helped curtail my "profectionist threshold" for my finish projects. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on your channel.

Great video. How would you approach the opposite situation, As in making a small dark knot go away?

Same process, although making a knot lighter can be more difficult. Give it a try.

Hello, What kind of Shellac or liquid base are you mixing with the Blendal Powders? You say you can take it right off if you mess up. What do you take off the mess up with? Is the wood already sprayed with Lacquer? Thanks so much!

Is the BlendAll -shellac being applied over lacquer or bare wood? Great tutorial!

over the lacquer, once you are happy with the layer of color, seal it in with more lacquer, then color match the next layer of color with shellac. this technique allows you to erase the top layer of color with alcohol before sealing it in. enjoy!

How would you do this for an antique that will get a shellac finish? ' Does this board already have an acrylic sealer or lacquer on it to allow to to wipe off boo-boos with alcohol?

yes, it was sealed with lacquer first to show the color. It can be done with only shellac finish but is very touching for the erasing steps
