It’s a great product if you think you may move things around from time to time because it is not permanent. And those tubs last FOREVER! Thanks for watching!

My grandmother (who lived downstairs from us) always had a glass by her sink that we all drank water out of. I don't feel grossed out about it. If anything it built up our immunity❤ I love the coffee kettle.

It's always lovely to see a fellow Canadian miniaturist doing such great work! Your grandmother's kitchen totally captures the place and time during the 60's which saw a lot of changes in the world, yet rarely affected the stability and/or the daily chores and routines at grandma's house. I have very fond memories of the 60's; going to my great grandmother's house in Seattle for my summer vacations each year, and sometimes visiting my great aunt who kept chickens in her backyard which like you, scared me too! And although my grandma did have electricity in her house, her kitchen overall, was very basic, with an oil cloth on the kitchen table, a huge porcelain kitchen sink, laminate on the counter top, and wall to wall lino throughout the main floor. My grandma use to take in laundry to supplement her income and so I vividly remember her ironing board set up against the wall, with a big basket of damp rolled laundry in it, and so seeing the mini flat iron on your mini wood stove was instant nostalgia for me. What a wonderful tribute to your grandmother throughout your little kitchen and I quite enjoyed the story of the clocks!

Hi Elizabeth! You’re right, the chores needed to be done regardless of what was happening in the outside world. The milking cows didn’t care if it was Christmas! It sound like you have great memories of your great Grandmother and Aunt. They sure had to work hard to maintain their life!

@@littlebylittledollhouseminis Yes, I totally agree, but also the definition of "hard work" is defined by what century one happens to be living in! 😄

Hi Penny I love that you are using the memories of your childhood as a reference to recreating the house. Here in Australia we also have to rely on internet suppliers for our miniature needs but there are have some great suppliers online. The postage from the USA and UK is very expensive and it is only feasible when you simply can’t live without the item😉😊

Hi...again...love love what you are doing. In reference to the Tacky Wax. I had always used Tacky Wax (in the red container) but before I decided to fill my house with all the contents, I realized that the Tacky Wax left a very greasy mark on furniture and wallpaper. Not so much on glass and ceramic. Then I was told about the "Museum Wax" which would not leave grease marks. I purchased 2 huge tubs from Amazon. (too much). Anyway, I do like the fact that when I remove pieces there is no grease marks. However, it does not hold well at all. I didn't want to permanently glue picture frames and all the contents such as dishes and all decorative elements on the furniture. My house has been fully furnished and sits as a decorative piece in my living room. But a lot of pieces have moved and pictures have fallen from the walls. The wax is very soft and little heat (which we need in our homes in Canada) melts it away. I have decided to make some decisions and permanently glue some items. The house has been to three shows and whenever I take it things move about. If you like to see the house it is the "Garfield by Greenleif" which I call "Vitoria. Sorry to be so lengthy but gluing and electricity has been a pet peeve of mine. www.vancouverminiatureshow.com/2017-exhibit-winners.html or beauxminis.com as you can see ...many many items to glue down etc. And I've struggled with tape wire electricity. Something to consider. My name is Fatima ...my trade name is "beauxminis".

Hi Fatima! Thank you for that info! I rarely move my mini accessories around once they are attached so I did not know it left a grease mark! I have never used Museum wax myself. Interesting that it does not hold as well! Thank you for sharing your website. I’m excited to have a look at all you have created! It’s also so nice to connect with a fellow Canadian. You likely understand the struggle of finding good sources for materials here. Thanks again for all the kind words! Penny

Just as a helpful addition, I find tacky wax and museum wax to be quite helpful IF something is on a horizontal service. But, if not, if it is on a vertical surface, like a wall, BluTack works much better. I tried hanging portraits with tacky wax and it was a disaster--kept falling down over and over. Blutack also does not leave much of a mark when taken off later.

Thank you so much for the tip! I have tried tacky wax on vertical surfaces and yes, they always end up on the floor. I will have a closer look at BluTack!

@@littlebylittledollhouseminis On that historic house of mine that you liked, there are 100 miniature portraits on the walls. It was on display in a shop window and I had to go back every few days and put the pictures back up. That's when I remembered blu tack. Darn what a difference!
