I recently took the Business Analysis and Reporting exam which is one of the new CPA discipline exams that replaced BEC. The exam did build on FAR as previously mentioned but also has content that overlaps with topics covered on the CMA and CFA. I had the most difficultly with governmental accounting since BAR goes more in depth into technical accounting processes. The other topics I was mostly familiar with.
This exam seems to be a good choice for those wanting to eventually join business finance leadership and help companies make better decisions.
Some of the exam topic areas include but are not limited to: Data Analytics, Financial Statement Analysis, Costing, Budgeting, Capital Structure and Valuation, COSO, Risk Management, Revenue Recognition, Leases, Business Combinations, and Governmental Accounting.
