I know that the song is in the movie (technically), but those specific lyrics were added in the Broadway version. Come to think of it, I think the entire prologue was added in the Broadway version. Though there may have been a deleted song from the movie that had some of the same lines, I can't quite remember...

Izzie Nope, Santa Fe (Prologue) Wasn't in the movie. The movie had Santa Fe and Santa Fe (Reprise). The musical has Santa Fe (Prologue) and Santa Fe. All four are _very_ different songs plot and lyricwise

Eden's face during Let It Go though

I’ve watched this at least a dozen times just to see Jeremy singing Santa Fe and I’m not even ashamed.

Jeremy Jordan: " ... and they went and made a city out of clay" me: **just about screaming** "AND THE MINUTE THAT YOU GET THERE, FOLKS WILL WALK RIGHT UP AND SAY, WELCOME HOME SON. WELCOME HOME TO SANTA FE"

Those are the lyrics to Broadway Newsies, not movie Newsies. Same song, different lyrics. Eden was correct!
