I really enjoyed your video, which helped me fix the exact same problem on the same nailer that I own. I have discovered a cheaper way to fix the problem, and wanted to let you know. The problem is the wrong material specification for O-rings on the trigger rod, which is what the trigger presses against when firing. The o-rings turn to mush and won't do their job any more. You show the rod sticking out of the gray trigger assy. popped off of the white trigger valve in your video. These can easily be replaced with buna-N size 004 (5/64" ID x 13/64" OD x 1/16" thick for about $3 from ebay). I lubricated the o-rings with silicone grease. All works fine now. Buna-N is resistant to gasoline, and I believe "oil" as well. I ground the OD down a little using a moto-tool, but doubt that this was necessary. I was trying to install the rod with the flat end first... and it wouldn't fit, as I discovered.

I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great kzread.infoUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

Best way to get the trigger assembly out is to remove the pins and connect the gun to your compressor set to 0 psi output. Slowly raise the psi until the entire assembly comes out. You won't get stuck pieces in there.

I just started woodworking and went through my tools, found a brand new Porter Cable 16 ga. finish nailer that had never been used. probably came with a compressor at one time. I booted it up and fired about 12 nails when it quit. I suppose anyone with a brain would have at least put pump oil in. lol. I imagine that in 12 years in my tool cabinet the lube dried up somewhat. anyway, ordered the new trigger valve. we'll see. thanks.

I’m curious how you knew it was the trigger that was defective. Instead of replacing the entire trigger assembly, could it have been fixed replacing the o- rings? That seems to be the only thing that would cause air to leak. Thanks

I had the same question and was pouring through comments wondering if someone answered that. Mine shoots once and the anvil won't return to the up position to grab another nail. It does indeed leak around the trigger, so I'm hopeful that rebuilding the trigger will work. I have an O-ring set, so I'll try that first and see. Did you ever figure that out yourself, and what was your symptom? Thanks.
