FINESSE FISHING | Northern Australia's Freshwater.

Спорт

In this session we're right up the top of a little creek in far north Queensland fishing for jungle perch and sooty grunter using finesse spin tackle. Rigged with light braid and leaders we fish and small crankbait and lightly weighted beetlespin with a small soft plastic. It's is a super stealthy style of fishing with the crystal clear water and how skinny the creek is it makes it easy for the fish to see you and if you get in the water, feel you coming. With slow movements and a decent trek we cross paths with some pretty gorgeous fish in stunning country.

    Great video. Been watching your videos on jps and sooty. Am up north from you. Beginner here, Wanting to know what poundage is your line as I have only 20 pound mono. Are you using lighter line.... and have you a leader on that? Keep safe

    can someone answer a question for me please. why do people run line 80Lb on reals that only have 40Lb of drag is it only for abrasion resistance?

  • @LiamFitzpatrick

    @LiamFitzpatrick

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yeah more pulling power on a straight rod and better knot connections and worst case abrasion resistance.

  • @chrisoh6627

    I suppose you can thumb an overhead reel and put your hand on the spool on a spin reel for extra drag. Might make it easier tying on heavier leader though. I've noticed some braid is almost like micro thin data cable 🤣 and some is very fabric like the original braid. I have an overhead reel that's rated for 25lb of drag but I use 50lb braid. The rod is rated for 50lb. I use about 80% drag and thumb the rest if needed. I suppose it's a lot physically lighter reel to be using for hour on end..

    I've also sportsfished using 10lb line on a reel capable of easily 16lb of drag, that way increased line capacity allows for big runs when fishing in open water. Chasing long tail tuna and GTs. Just using a heavy leader....
