    Welcome to the black hole with thousands of variations of destroyers 😂 Tip, if you find a run with the stability and top you like, buy backups asap 🤣

    😅 yea I figured I was going down a deep deep hole on that one… but it also feels exciting to have so many unknown options to discover!

    I just started playing last summer and I already have four Destroyers lmao. Three are similar, but one of them I’m convinced it’s not a Destroyer 😂😂

    I have a 156g Star Destroyer that I use for calm days, and a beat-in,165g Champion Daedalus that I use when there's a slight breeze. They're by far my favorite Innova drivers.

    I bet that thing BOMBS! Those lighter weight destroyers are so dang fun. Never thrown a Deadalus though

    @JourneyDiscGolf I wasn't a fan of the Daedalus when it was new, so I took a wire wheel to edge of the disc and it's been so good to me since. It was flipping at 200ft but now stays straight until ~350ft. My lightweight Destroyer on the other hand is sometimes scary to throw because of how far it goes. First disc I got to 450ft with.

    Destroyers sell so well for a reason. they are good at everything distance related you can get a undersable star one that goes farther then anything else or get a wind fighter with halo and z plastic they are just great 👍 also like you said fits well for smaller hands

    My go to for that slot is the DD Raider. Definitely not something you see a lot of people throwing. It’s a 13 but feels like a 12 IMO.

    You need to try a TeeBird and TeeBird3 they are amazing woods discs that go very straight. The TeeBird3 you can throw straight and it will have a consistent fade to it while the TeeBird just goes dead straight. They are absolutely necessary discs everyone should have

    Have you aver tried an Axiom Crave? It is by far my favorite disc right now. My lightweight and beat in ones are pretty flippy. I've got two newer ones that are straight to overstable. I couldn't imagine having at least two in my bag.

    Hole 3 straight up is the weirdest to me. The distance does not at all reflect how hard it actually is to get it to the basket. I always play that hole as if it is playing almost 350 and I manage to get it around those trees.

  • @boogie3927

    What percentage of disc golf players do you think throws 400'? The whole premise here is wrong. Pick a stable disc that can be thrown flat or slight hyzer..Sword or Bolt category. That is your everyman distance driver.

  • @AndrewWoodDiscGolf

    @AndrewWoodDiscGolf

    Жыл бұрын

    I guess I’m not totally understanding. What premise is wrong? I get that probably not a huge percent of players throw 400’. Are you saying the destroyer is too overstable for most people?

  • @dwmichaels

    @dwmichaels

    Жыл бұрын

    @@AndrewWoodDiscGolf I think what he's saying is that for folks throwing I like the destroyer's early flight, but I can't throw them hard or fast enough to use them as hyzer flip discs. That's where you can really get some strong distance and then they have a predictable fade back at the end (vs staying turned over). I think the pros like that slow stability so they can count on it coming back.

  • @AndrewWoodDiscGolf

    @AndrewWoodDiscGolf

    Жыл бұрын

    Thanks for helping me out there, that makes a lot of sense and I totally agree. I bag two Graces and love them, theyre for sure my go to drivers if the wind is down. I will also say, that yellow destroyer being 168g flies way more flippy than the max weight destroyers i have. So trying out some light weight ones could be a great play for slower arms too!

  • @dwmichaels

    @dwmichaels

    Жыл бұрын

    @@AndrewWoodDiscGolf FWIW, even the 150g discs like wraith, destroyer, etc. are about as consistent as the higher weights (without wind). They still require getting up to speed, and they still retain that slow speed over-stability. I wouldn't be shocked if it was just the random destroyer mold hoo-ha making it flippy :P I've seen some folks do some videos on the difference weight makes, and I think that the verdict was that weight doesn't make much difference except in the wind. Lighter discs will get tossed around more.
