Finding Seashells in Tide Pools | Shuttle Shell & Giant Hairy Triton

Ойын-сауық

It's sunny while the tide is high, and then it's cloudy for low tide... every time!! I'm not even kidding! Anyhoo, I found some lovely shells under the cloudy sky; I really love that Giant Hairy Triton with some much of its periostracum still on it, and I love that funky Eroded Cowrie! From the sand, I still can't get over that Small-toothed Cowrie and the Rosy Spindle Cowrie - so cute! Thanks for watching~
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

G'day everyone! Wow, you're actually reading the description? Um, thank you! You will be rewarded with extra content... my Facebook page (link above) is loaded with out-takes and deleted scenes that don't make it into the KZread videos. Check out the extra funsies over there if you're desperate for more shelling content ;D

I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can check out his videos here:

Still, I hope that I'll find even more on my next trip to the beach 🏖️ wish me luck! All the best to you and your kitties as well...how many are there now??? Thanks for watching 🥰

    G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 The Orange Drupe was a really fun one; looking back, the shape of it was a little more elongated than a lot of other Orange Drupes that I've found here in the past 😲 or maybe that healed break is to blame for that? The Spindle was super cool, it's really not a typical one to see here; I wish they were more common! Ahh and you're still a fan of the Bird Carditas 😍 I found and interesting one to show this time 😁 Thank you so much for watching, and I hope you have a fantastic week as well 🥰

    G'day Sherrie 👋🏻💖 Oh gosh, thank you for saying so; I used to do three videos a week, but the rainy season really hit hard over summer! I think two is better anyway 😉 more manageable for me! I appreciate you, I only just got this video done due to tides/weather - it's been challenging lately even though it should have stopped raining by this time of year 😅 Thank you so, so much for watching!!

    Those were some beautiful operculums you found early on! 💛💜💚 I loved the zebra 🦓 volutes, and the limpets 🗻. The worm 🪱 cone was gorgeous. My favorite today was the spindle cowrie. I love its pink color and it’s just such an unusual shell. Great adventure Maddie, thank you! 🥰🥰🥰

    G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 They really are lovely little Operculums this time; one it in practically pristine condition 😲 and the other is really nice as well! The Zebra Volutes were nice finds, but wow, the trio of little limpets stood out to you? I'm glad; I thought they might have been overlooked because they were just little guys! Hehe, so the Spindle was the top favourite in the end ❤️ I do remember how much you love those pink coloured shells 😉 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

    G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 The pools were lovely and clear this time 🌊 and the waves were nice and small! The days have been unseasonable cool over the last week though, not a great time for taking a dip; but that didn't stop the few surfers out there!! Hehe, thank you for excusing the win while I was grabbing up those shells 🐚 the wind seemed to be blowing from all directions instead of just one...made filming a challenge! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰

    Maddie your excitement is contagious. At 06:05 you find the hairy triton. You described everything wonderfully, but I was dying to feel it. Is it hard or soft? Bristly or squishy 😁sorry, but just wanted to know 🐚ty

  • @SandCoffeeRocks

    @SandCoffeeRocks

    Ай бұрын

    G'day JK 👋🏻🏖️ I've been slow to get back to you, but the texture; I was thinking about it over the last few days, and it's all of the above 🤣 So when the Giant Hairy Tritons's periostracum is wet, it's like soft bristles, but not like real hair or fur, it's like dense wet fluffy grass, if such a thing exists. The shell underneath feels solid, but the hair cushions it to feel softer in comparison. When the periostracum is dry, it's a bit like hard bristles on a toothbrush, but not as uniform...kind feels a little gross, like a crusty pet that needs a bath 😂 I hope some part of my description made sense!? Anyways, thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
