Finding Seashells on the Sand | Rare Butterfly Shells [Virtual Shelling]

Ойын-сауық

Well, I just kept finding amazing things, so I stayed at the beach for longer and longer! Wow, it was a big day (6 hours; plenty of it spent socializing with the shelling community here), I found so many amazing shells regardless of how many other shellers were also on the hunt. The storm sure kicked up some amazing shell finds!
I loved that Butterfly Moon Snail, and the Sea Butterfly shells (Cavolinia uncinata) I feel like I found a treasure trove of rare things today! I also can't believe that Precious Wentletrap and Umbilical Egg Shell! The excitement was really turned up to eleven today!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admire him a lot, and was saddened by the news that he finished creating new shelling content on KZread. You can still check out his amazing videos here:

YOU ARE KILLING ME!!! 🤯 Could you have a better day? The shell patterns are so colorful 🎨 and beautiful! I think the butterfly snail and the frog shell were my favorites this episode! I think…🫣 Who could decide?! 😮 That Humphrey’s cowrie was jaw dropping! The limpets gorgeous, to to many to narrow down. The moray eel 🐉 was very scary. I’d hate to be competing with those. But I would! 😂 The clear fragile shells were so cool. Happy a viewer identified them for you. Really exciting video today! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰

I KNOW RIGHT? I keep wondering when my “beginners luck” will run out 🤣🤯😅 This was a freakin’ fantastic day 🤩 The Butterfly Moon Snail is a lovely shell, I’m hoping to find another because it seems like a few have turned up lately (I saw another local sheller find one). Honestly, there were so many lovely shells to find at low tide on this day -I’m still hoping to find a whole unbroken frog shell someday soon 🐸. Only high tides lately, but I hope I can find a few things to excite you with as well 😉 The little eel is smaller than it looks, and a scaredy cat, I don’t think it’s anything to worry about 😮‍💨 I’ll happy steal all the lovely shells from it 😆 I’m so, so pleased that you enjoyed this video, I really enjoyed this crazy adventure (so much so, that I spent twice as long at the beach on this day with a friend). Thank you so much for joining me for an adventure that I, personally, loved a lot at the time 🥰❤️🐚 thanks for watching, Pam 👋🏻

G’day Roberta 👋🏻❤️ I was so surprised by all the new and amazing finds today, and I’m so pleased that you’ve enjoyed them too 🤩 the bubbles are super cool, right? They’re the shells of tiny, delicate sea creatures that live on the very top of the ocean’s water. How scary, can you imagine being that small and just living on such big waves?! Crazy little things, nature is amazing 😯 Hehe, I started to ramble… thank you so much for coming along with me today, Roberta 🥰👋🏻

G’day Toni 👋🏻❤️ I’ve been wanting to find a moon snail like that since seeing it in my seashell book… and I wasn’t disappointed by it! I can’t wait to find a gem Frog shell one day 🥰 and gosh, I really did like that grey limpet with the red center 😍 I’m glad you liked all of the amazing shell finds too. It was an extra long video: I was out there for a long time that day because I kept having so many successful finds (and I kept chatting to people hehe). Wish me luck out there today too 😉 Thank you so much for coming along with me Toni, I’m so happy that I can bring these adventure to you 🥰 take care until next time ☺️ (oh, and there is a few minutes of out-takes from this video on Facebook, too, if you’re interested)

I have seen on other videos that they find the purple shells but have always had living snails in them. So my 1st empty one. I have no idea what a frog shell is but looking forward to you finding one. Thanks again Maddie.

That’s true, my first two times finding these violet snails were also alive ones. I’m so happy to have a keeper 🤩. Most shells seem to be named after animals, so the frog shell is like that. It’s all bumpy though, so I think they should have called it a toad shell! Hehe.

Hello Deborah in Michigan 👋🏻🐚 Hehe, those Moon Snails and Limpets can certainly get quite colourful! I admit, I was quite lucky with my shell finds on this day; there were lots of other shellers about, and I ended up staying extra long, but I think I found all the best stuff 🤣 Thanks for joining the adventure today ❤️

Maddie, WOW,WOW. The seashells ypu found. I loved the butterfly seashell because I collected butterflies when a child. It was an amazing collection til some of the big moths I also had were not dried enough and their bugs ate the whole collection. So sad. Anyway your Angel Wing is a lot smaller the the Florida one I am sending you. Different from here. Mr. Eel I really fast but do beware. He is pretty tho. So many of the shells I loved. Thank you for a wonderful video as always. Take care Maddie til next time. XXOO. TRUDY

Hey Trudy 👋🏻❤️ The shells today were spectacular with a few new ones; I can’t believe there so many first-time finds after months of shelling! Aaaw no, I’m sorry to hear about your butterfly collection; they can be fantastic when on display, all so beautiful and amazing, but I’ve heard before that bugs are a big pest with those kinds of collections 😭. Oh yes, I was surprised that Australia had its own variety of Angle Wings… they aren’t quite as big and lovely as the Florida ones though (gosh, you’re making me so excited and spoiled). Thank you so much for watching my video, I thought this was a really fun one so I’m glad you enjoyed it as well 🤩 Take care too, and wish me luck at the beach today 👋🏻🥰

@@SandCoffeeRocks Maddie tons of luck on your next video. I always want you to be safe when out finding all thise special shells. Yes, the Angle wing you have will be small. Yours from me is a beauty and really does look like a wing. Will be mailing the shells to you in another week. The post office friend has been alerted. I feel like I am right there with you finding the shells and am excited about everything you find and the creatures too. The brown paper is postal wrapping paper and doubled will be super strong and all taped up with postal tape. Be careful and take care out there. Your finds really are amazing and I love the common names too Ling with the science names. Not to many people do that. XXOO TRUDY

I had sooooo much luck yesterday (next video) so your well wishes really reached me here in Australia, thank you Trudy! Oh my goodness, thank you so much Trudy, I cannot express enough how much I’m looking forward to this. You are the real angel. I’m so happy that I can take you along with me and share the excitement. I do like adding both kinds of names, I think it adds just a bit of credibility to my videos too, more so that just saying them aloud. I’m so pleased that you’re continuing to enjoy my shells finds 🐚🤗 Thanks again, Trudy ❤️
