Finding Seashells at Low Tide | A Very Windy Day! [Virtual Shelling]

Ойын-сауық

So much wind! I can only apologise again for the wind noise in the video today. It wasn't as bad as I feared, but it could have been better! Thank you for watching anyway, I hope you enjoyed the shell finds.
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

G'day everyone! Wow, you're actually reading the description? Um, thank you! You will be rewarded with extra content... my Facebook page (link above) is loaded with out-takes and deleted scenes that don't make it into the KZread videos. Check out the extra funsies over there if you're desperate for more shelling content ;D

I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can check out his videos here:

G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 Oh gosh, I was kicking myself that I forgot to mention the Zebra Volute; I thought it was one of the nicer shells this time, and it deserves a special mention! That fish was super cool too... I reckon it must have washed in with all of those Violet Sea Snails?? These fish really seem to like the protection of the toxic jellyfish 😅 they're so pretty, too. Thank you so much for watching 🥰

Good morning, Maddie What a good day of shelling. I think I have a first, sertum rock shell. The two different limpits were very nice, mini sand dollars , brown lined paper bubble, two different dove shells, snake heads, donkey cowrie, graceful cowrie, wintaletrap, music cone, dawn mitre, bloched nerites,Humphreys cowrie along with so many of your other shells today. Love seeing the live critters again today. Thank you for another wonderful shelling adventure. Thank you, Maddie 😊

G'day Toni 👋🏻💖 It was such a fun day, although I was quite happy to be out of that wind 🌬️ it's honestly been keeping me away from the beach all week (well, that and the very inaccurate predictions of a storm, uhhh, how do the weather people keep getting this wrong??? Geez 🙄). The little Sertum Rock Shell is a super cool one 🤩 I think I've only ever found two whole ones before? They are quite rare here. The Limpets were surprisingly nice, I actually liked them a lot too 😁 my goodness, there was a lot of great shells today... I think out of all of the ones you mentioned, that Brown-lined Paper Bubble caught my eye the most 😉 but gosh, that big Donkey was a very nice one as well!! The live creatures were the best, I was really intrigued by that fish 🐟 it was so interesting to learn that it lives with the toxic jellyfish for protection! Talk about being brave! Thank you so much for joining me for another shelling adventure 🥰 I think of you often, and I hope you are well 💖

Hi Maddie, I enjoyed your shelling adventure. I think the shells that come from the rock pools are the most exciting to see. That little fish was adorable, I hope he managed to get back to the sea. Thank you for taking us with you. ❤xxxxxx

G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it, I was a bit worried that the wind noise would come through too much 😅 the strong winds have been keeping me away from the beach all week, but hopefully it will be better soon 😜 Oh yes, I think the shells in the rock pools are the most exciting to find, too! Sometimes the shell just aren't in the rock pools, though 😅 but finding a fresh Arabian in one? That's the best feeling! Also, yes, I hope that cute little fish was able to get back out to the ocean and find another toxic jellyfish to keep it company 🤣 no, seriously, I mean it! Thank you so much for joining me on another shelling adventure 🥰

G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 Yessss the Blotched Nerites need some extra love 🤩 haha, ahhh 😆 it was nice to see the live creatures in the rock pools this time: those bubble snails were everywhere!! Oh, so the Australian Rock Whelk was the favourite this time! Also I must say, I really, REALLY liked that false Limpet too, and I'm not usually a big Limpet lady 😂 it was really cool! Oh goodness Pam, it's been so windy all week; it's been keeping me away from the beach 😅 it's just so bad for filming (and for standing in for hours), but what can I do? Sorry, I'm venting my woes, I'll make it work 😜 Thank you so much for watching, Pam 🥰

I think I like the Currawong more than the Magpie, because the Currawong has a beautiful bird call. Kookaburra is pretty cool, but I think I like the Glossy Black Cockatoo best, or perhaps the Pink Galah. Anyway! Onto shells! The Zebra Volute was so lovely this time, I wish I remembered to give it a special mention. And gosh, I still can't believe the Ram's Horns are still washing up!? • @SandCoffeeRocks

G'day Pearl 👋🏻🐌 The purplish lace coral is actually called "Pink Lace Coral" and indeed, it keeps its colour, but eventually fades a bit into more of a pink/purple colour. If you want to research this coral too, it has the scientific name: Iodictyum phoeniceum. The light coloured lace coral I picked up today is a different species from a different genus, despite how similar they look 😲 Thanks for watching 🥰
