Finding sea shells at low tide. Let's see what critters and sea shells are on the beach to discover!
Finding sea shells at low tide, especially in the summer is always really fun. I typically try to either get out there first thing, or find sea shells at low tide to help increase my chances of finding treasures.

I love how you find critters and shells and you leave them ware they are

They really are beautiful shells and I always collect all the ones I find. Did you see my one video where I found over 70 of them in one day?
I love how excited you get when you find beach treasures! Thank you! ❤️🐚

I hope the excitement never wears off! I've only been here almost 3 years and I am in love with learning about the shells and the creatures that make them!
I always enjoy the beautiful shell treasures you find. I, especially, love how thoughtfully and gently you return the living creatures to the ocean. Thank you for sharing this!

You are so very welcome! And I want to be kind to our little beach creatures so they can continue to provide us all with such pretty shells!
I love shells but my favourite part of your videos is how respectful you are of the environment and the sea animals. I love that you try not to disturb live critters or as little as possible and only for educational purposes. And beach time and actually looking for shells vicariously is very enjoyable. Thanks Sharmon. Love from Gold Coast, Australia.

I'm quite lucky to live here and be able to take a short drive to catch a low tide and say hi to some critters. I've only lived here just short of 3 years and I'm making up for a lot of lost beach time! Thanks for enjoying the beach with me all the way from Australia!

Hi. Love your show. Learn so much from it. I checked on Quora regarding removing slipper snails from other shells and a couple biologists on there answered that question already saying NO. You can rip the snail's body and actually separate it from the shell, which will cause it to die in a short time. Hope that helps.

Thank you it does! Now I know removing a slipper could harm it. I'm glad I didn't try it and I just left them peacefully at the beach ☺️

Mostly I keep my shells in glass jars, vases and lanterns. I showed my collection in a past video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5qtksylYNbToKg.html Then, I put some shells to the side to sell and others to do projects with. I've managed to complete 2 projects thus far. A shell mirror: kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5pptbimaNCbnps.html And a shell photo frame: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mm2Jq9iqnLLgl7A.html I have lots of ideas I just need to find more time!

Hi Sharmon, What a beautiful evening! I can totally understand that you had to drag yourself off the beach. It really was an amazing evening to enjoy all the goodies the sea has to offer. Those hermit crabs are so funny! I'm always amazed to see them in all kind of shells, defending their little home until it's time to move to a bigger one. Thanks for getting those out of the water. I only get in the water on uncrowded beaches. I’m scared of jelly fishes and people pee peeing in the water on crowded beaches. I love finding sea shells that you can take home. I never take shells with live critters either.

Oh, I do love going to the beach with you every week, and this week was really great! I love to wade around in the shallows and out on sandbars too, so it was fun to see all the wonders that the gulf has to offer up. The urchins were technicolor on my screen, so I think they were my favorites this week. Really cool info on the skimmers. I've only seen them as they skim here, never in groups at the water's edge like that. They have roped off areas for nesting on Honeymoon, but I don't think it's for skimmers. Yes, fantastic crown conch! Craziest thing. I went to Ft DeSoto Park with my cousin that was visiting and when we went out a ways there were literally hundreds of live sand dollars, mostly small. It was like a hatchery and very cool. Sort of like the urchins! Very pretty pear whelks! I think the slippers can live if removed, but I don't ever do it. Wow! That is the most active urchin I've seen!! Love the fast-forward videos! Very interesting info on the sea cucumber. Really nice big angel wing! Man there was hardly anyone on the beach there. Surprising... You did really well for June. Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo
@SWFBeachLife
2 жыл бұрын
Agreed - very good for June but I suspect the low tide helped. If I were on the beach I don't think I would have found much of anything! I've always wondered about the slippers and someone else said they could be harmed by popping them off so I think I'll continue with my, "leave them be" policy. Those sea cucumbers are crazy fascinating! xoxoxo
