Hunting Exotic Shells At One Of The BEST Shelling Beaches In The UK!

This week we again search for something new. We visit a beach that is the only place in Britain you can find certain exotic shells. There are many cowries and exotic shells that have come across from the Caribbean on the gulf stream. Come with us on a search for the rare and unusual in a beautiful place!
If you would like to watch us use some of the shells in miniature crafting pop over to our new second channel `The Miniature World Of Kit + Caboodlers` -
/ @theminiatureworldofki...
We have a patreon page for anyone wishing to support us.
We also have a Ko-fi account, so if you wanted to support us by buying us a metaphorical cup of coffee it would be greatly appreciated xx

I've never seen such a small sand dollar. Along the Texas Gulf coast ours are the size of your hand with your fingers stretched out. If you break them open, they have tiny bird shaped bones in them that we called Doves.

where on the gulf coast are you? i grew up in houston, galveston. i was last there around 15 years ago, and there were no seashells at all on galveston, in a mile i found a single broken sand dollar. there were always less whole seashells every year since i was a child 50+ years ago, but to find none at all was terrifically sad and unexpected. one reason i love these videos; they really know how to practice the art of cherishing, don't they? and there's always the cat, Sunny.

This video has a special place in my heart. My dad was in the US Army during WWII. He was stationed in the Philippines and brought home many shells. Happy belated mums day fluer. From the states . You've raised such a lovely daughter ! My suggestion for the tusk shell ...lol. if you come accrossed any miniature elephant heads glue them on and place them on a wall in the doll house assuming the father of your victorian doll house is a proper hunter . As so many men love to brag on their hunting of Big" game . Big chuckle . Not advocating the hunting of such a beautiful animal.! But Its for make believe people. This is a humble worthy dollhouse!!! Love you all.

Loved the shells . I collected tiny shells when living in Florida a while back . Once found a tiny living Octopus in a tiny shell. What a treat ! Let it go in a tidal pool in its shell quite near the tide line so it would not get stranded on dry shore . The cowrie shells could maybe be used as eggs in a wire basket on a table if you like . a little wire woven chicken shaped egg basket would be lovely and fun to make maybe . Thanks for sharing . I would have taken some of the flat gray colored stones and used them as part of a fireplace, flagstones for a walkway, chimney, or the outside of the dollhouse. I think that the would have been suitable for that. The cowries are beautiful as are the other shell that were collected!

With the tusk shells, how about using fairy lights inside them for the doll house? Maybe a chandelier, strung lights or an arty creation?

You could make a lot of unicorns with those tusk shells! The bigger round shell, is a moon snail shell called a gaudy nautica. I also saw a couple of limpet shells and at least one top snail shell. Great haul!

Never never never apologize for mentioning the doll's house . . . it is a wonderful project that makes everyone, well, me . . . happy and impatient to see. Something you both can be proud of. I miss having access to the ocean . . . England was once my home (still is, but . . .). All the best (Ann, Canada)

Thank you so much for your lovely calming videos! Hunting shells on the beach is one of my favorite things, but since I live in the middle of a continent I have to be satisfied with finding fossil ones most of the time. Watching you find all those beautiful shells is just lovely!

I absolutely love beaches and love finding shells over everything else. Next comes agates and then sea glass. The Oregon coast is my happy place and we are limited in the shells we get. But sand dollars are one type we do get. And lots of mussels and clams. The smallest whole ones I have found were slightly smaller than an American dime. I love this video. Thank you 🙏. I never knew these little creatures could drift on the currents this far.
