FINDING PEACE & LETTING GO

Фильм және анимация

We’ve been taught to hold on to things. And in our material world, life has become a possession too - we cannot seem to let it go. It seems to have become more acceptable to "rage against the dying of the light" and fight to the bitter end, than to take stock of what life has been about and to be at peace with death.
Dying is not about hanging on. It’s about letting go, reconciling, finding peace.
And when we learn to do that, we learn to live life.

"Trust and just love... unconditionally. And so you're able to love somebody to the absolute fullest even knowing that they're going to be dying and especially that they're dying. All the makeup goes away, all the material possessions fall away. They have a moment to be authentic and to be accepted and not judged, and it is so liberating. Where they can just be themselves without judgment. My life is teaching me to let go and not take things so personally." I'm so grateful for this insight.

My mum would say : " I'm getting old and haven't long in this world" And us kids would chastise her and tell her to stop being so negative. Afcourse we were just afraid at the thought of loosing her. Mum would then say :" What, do you expect me to live forever?" We'd all go quiet. I now say the same thing to my kids and I genuinely believe it helps prepare them for that day when we pass away. When my mother became terribly ill I had time to say goodbye but it did not change how grief stricken i became ..took me 3 years to come out the other side. I still hear her ask " What, did you expect me to live forever?" I now gave the answer. When I was very young I did expect her to live forever. Now that im more mature I know non of us is immortal and i want my kids to accept that i g is the reality of life. I want them to be able to be prepared for life...a future for themselves.

Yup, INFJ here too. I wish this beautiful woman had been with me during the AIDS crisis of the 90's. Human beings became savages and animals. Family, friends, lovers, employers, medical teams and mortuary service people, all denied us service, care, love and the rites of a proper burial. I buried 200 of my friends. Many of them were destitute, and alone in the end, it was the saddest experience I've ever had to live through. When it came my turn and I knew what I was up against, I made arrangements so that No one had control over my mortal remains and burial. That truly pissed my family off that they no longer had control and none of them ever spoke to me again. That was over 30 years ago now. I have my husband and that is it. No family, no friends. Very sad indeed.

The illness & the engagement with the medical system is so heartbreaking but then when you shared about the healing that came with the hospice nurses, well...I'm in a puddle of tears. Good tears. " The more loss we feel, the more greatful we should be for whatever it was we had to lose. It means that we had something worth grieving for. The ones I am sorry for are the ones that go through life not knowing what grief is. " Said Frank O' Connor. Thanks for sharing this information with us all. We will all be in touch with our mortality and the blessings of finding our peace in our deaths. It is so much harder to lose someone that you love , than to be the person who is dying. I died and it was instantly out of the world, the pains, and I was not concerned or afraid. I was dead for 15 or 20minutes, and then I was back in my life. Ouch! That is the way it was. I was very concerned about the people who were in my life, they were very upset and worried about me and they were so frightened that I was going to die again soon. That was a decade ago.. death is inevitable and you can't live with the fear of death,, why? Where is the joy and happiness in life? What is life worth living in the fear and loss of life? Embrace life with jubilation and celebration and boogie til you drop.

I cared for my recently departed dog for many months. Over a year, actually. I don't think I did a good job because I was in denial. I was angry that he was going to pass and I fought it the whole time. Now that he's gone, it hits me hard that whatever you want to do to honor someone while they are here, don't hesitate, don't waste any time because we cannot even know the day that body is going to be lifeless. I long to live his last day again, do it things differently that day. I can't. I thought he only taught me in life but he's teaching me so much in death. I've turned myself inside out and it hurts so bad. It feels as if I am putting salt on my raw wounds. While I learn to accept that I will never see him with my eyes again (writing this feels painfully surreal), I will do better by my other two dogs, and I will learn to not panic at the nearing and arrival of death next time. May God have my pup by His loving side, and all of my animal friends that have taught me lessons and the gift of true love.

Touching and deep words, thank you for sharing. It's never easy to say Good Bye to our furry friends. We struggle with it, we are human. But we are certain you tried your best even though you don't think so, and we often think afterwards that we should have done things differently, etc. Don't beat yourself up more, you are still grieving the loss. Be gentle with yourself, may your other dogs give you comfort as well. Wishing you peace and strength at this time, give yourself time to accept it all. Sending you warmest of hugs, Justine and Michael. 💚

We search hope in science...when someone say "No"..we should respect and let live the life...one's want.☺️..This channel had taught..in a simple way 😇...We want something in life...till when one's reach and wonder again ...want to connect back to nature.."experience count"🙂☺️

Your words echo Di's feelings too - we each decide when our time is up, and that decision should be treated with respect and care. Hugs to you friend! Justine and Michael 💚

The lady in this film stressed that our life is nothing else but feelings, and the greatest feeling is love. In her tearing eyes, the wisdom revealed. There is a famous Confusious' quote, "You do not yet know about the living, how can you know about the death? ". However, after accompanying my friends and relatives' final journey, I feel just the opposite, "You do not yet know about death; how can you know about living?". Every day can be our final day.

Maybe it's because I'm from a large Irish Catholic family, most of whom read the obits every day, but I've never understood a lot of people's attitude towards death. As far as I know, it happens to everyone, and the ferryman comes on his schedule, not yours. So, worrying is useless. Now, if you are 40, it makes sense to put in a a fight, but at 80? My mother was 75 when she was offered an operation that would have extended her life maybe 6 months. She said no, and she was supported by everyone in her decision. Even the doctor looked relieved. She had a peaceful death, for which we are all grateful. At some point, the game is no longer worth the candle, and it becomes time to cash in your chips.
