Gavin is talking about all the old flats looking the same outside....but the modern flats all look the same and looking over parking lots.

Ah the luxury of buying 20 years ago - wondering if you should buy an old or new build - rather than wondering if you can buy anything at all.

Rather remarkable how much weight Gavin puts on impressing other people. Dont think Ive ever met anyone who makes big life decisions based on...what will my mother think about a small kichen. What will my friends think about a long row of terrace houses. Must be difficult person to be partners with. Quite an eyeopener to "meet" someone like him.2. Amazing how much one learns listening to Phil & Kristies tips/ advice.

It’s their money of course- but I would find it annoying if someone said “I just don’t like it.” What does one do with that information? Gosh Gavin would drive me crazy but maybe it’s because I love those tenement buildings so much!

I think this was filmed in the very late 90s, or very early 2000s because Faculty of Education is opposite that last flat and the University of Glasgow hadn't started building it yet.

@@geoffdundee but he got his reward here as some of the best lecturer including Graham bell and Newton perhaps. He's my favorite figure in economics, he had made me to choose social study in senior high school. The best icon who Britania have until now. "The shadow of hand" in wealth of nation makes whole economic countries around the world walk in their enlightment. The father of economics. Perhaps he had shown about Illumination too, it's not bad or good too but if it's governed correctly. the result would be great in this world and after. 🌐🇬🇧♥️

Novar Drive flat is gorgeous! I love the glass insert in the flat door and the bay window is lovely and lets in lots of sunshine (when it’s sunny of course.) Could you please tell me how the sound separation between flats is in the old tenement buildings? I’m thinking it’s better than new built flats, but being from Canada I have no knowledge of such beautiful old buildings. Are there two flats per level? Please share whatever you know about these lovely buildings. 💖Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

My advice would be never to buy a flat or unit. You can't pick you're neighbours. You can find yourself stuck in hell. Buy a house on the biggest plot of land you can afford

Good advice, Passionate Picker. I would add that possibly a top floor unit would eliminate having anyone above you, but aren’t top floor units the most expensive? I’ve lived in rental buildings where the rent increased as you moved up, ostensibly to pay for the “view” lol. I have certainly had some hideous neighbours over the years! Case in point, the mentally ill woman who enjoyed playing Papa Don’t Preach at full volume set to repeat! This was pre-CD days so most likely a turntable. She had a quality stereo. Did I say how much I dislike Madonna (the singer)? Lol

@@sharong8511 ....... i hate any song from the film titanic as id an idiot druggie neighbour who played his CD full blast from 9pm until 2am every night (unless police were called) then he,d turn it back on as soon as they left.........after reporting him 5 or more times over an 8 week period he scratched my car badly, dented the door, smashed a window then one morning as i left for work at 5am he jumped out his window to come after me with a large kitchen knife in his hand ......i was aware of a window opening and a dull thud but got into my car.......i found out later the same day the neighbor on the ground floor discovered him at 8am with both ankles broken so had to call an ambulance.....the following day i walked into his landlords office without an appointment, explained situation and threatened to sue them if he wasnt evicted or if i ever came to harm (ie being stabbed)........the druggie moved out 2 weeks later........btw ive been in same flat for more than 30 yrs now.........the above has been the only incident with neighbors being anti-social......its really landlords to blame for picking up scum tenants and mixing them in with good folk.
